Omschrijving
(Op de bijbehorende kaart aangegeven met nr.8) IJSKELDER. Voor in het park ligt een bakstenen ijskelder onder een kunstmatig opgeworpen aarden heuvel. De kelder is vermoedelijk rond 1836 gebouwd in opdracht van S.P. baron van Heemstra en bestaat uit een cilindrische ruimte onder een bakstenen koepelgewelf. De ruimte is bereikbaar via een gang met tongewelf. Tot 1913 is de koepel verhuurd aan fa. De Ruyter, fabrikant van broodbeleg. In 1913 is een ijsfabriek aan de Heemskerklaan gebouwd, die de koepel overbodig maakte.

Description
(Indicated on the accompanying map with no. 8) ICE CELLAR. In front of the park lies a brick ice cellar beneath an artificially raised earthen mound. The cellar was presumably built around 1836 at the behest of S.P. baron van Heemstra and consists of a cylindrical chamber beneath a brick barrel vault. The chamber is accessible via a corridor with barrel vault. Until 1913 the vault was leased to the firm De Ruyter, a manufacturer of bread spread. In 1913 an ice factory was built at Heemskerklaan, which made the vault redundant.
