Inleiding
Grafmonument, in 1919 ontworpen door architect J.W. Hanrath voor J.H. Insinger, die leefde van 1854 tot 1918. Het grafmonument ligt op de begraafplaats van De Lage Vuursche en werd ontworpen in Egyptische stijl. Insinger was om gezondheidsredenen naar Egypte gestuurd, en werd daar enthousiast over de cultuur. Hij werd actief als amateurarcheoloog en egyptoloog. Ter plaatse leidde hij tevens een handelshuis.
Omschrijving
Op de begraafplaats aan de Hoge Vuurseweg te De Lage Vuursche gelegen natuurstenen GRAFMONUMENT met Egyptische motieven bestaande uit een tombe in de vorm van een sarcofaag met een achterwand die wordt bekroond door een kroonlijst in papyrus-motief. De zijwanden van de sarcofaag zijn versierd met figuratieve voorstellingen. De rechter wand is versierd met twee reliëfs met de voorstelling van een voor een plant knielende mannen- en vrouwenfiguur. De linker wand bevat een soortgelijke voorstelling waarbij een bloem wordt geofferd. Op de voorzijde van de tombe is een bronzen plaat aangebracht met de tekst: J.H. Insinger geb. te Amsterdam 12 mei 1854 overl. te Cairo 27 oct. 1918.
Het graf wordt omheind door een stenen lijst met pilaren waartussen twee horizontale metalen stangen zijn bevestigd. De tussengelegen ruimte is bedekt met grind.
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van cultuurhistorische waarde als uiting van de funeraire cultuur. Het is tevens van architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de bouwstijl en de plaats in het oeuvre van architect Hanrath.

Description
Located in the cemetery on the Hoge Vuurseweg at De Lage Vuursche, a natural stone FUNERARY MONUMENT with Egyptian motifs consisting of a tomb in the form of a sarcophagus with a back wall that is crowned by a cornice in papyrus motif. The side walls of the sarcophagus are decorated with figurative representations. The right wall is decorated with two reliefs depicting male and female figures kneeling before a plant. The left wall contains a similar representation in which a flower is offered. On the front of the tomb is mounted a bronze plaque bearing the text: J.H. Insinger born in Amsterdam 12 May 1854 died in Cairo 27 Oct. 1918.
The grave is enclosed by a stone frame with pillars between which two horizontal metal bars are attached. The intervening space is covered with gravel.
Valuation
The funerary monument is of cultural historical value as an expression of funerary culture. It is also of architectural historical value because of the building style and its place in the oeuvre of architect Hanrath.
