Omschrijving
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorend tot het Spijkerbosch. Deze aanleg bestaat uit een aantal 18de-eeuwse elementen (lanen, plaats van de moestuin) en een vroeg 19de-eeuws landschapspark dat daaromheen is gelegd met het huis als middelpunt. De lanen zijn met eiken en beuken beplant. De wandelbossen die door weilanden worden onderbroken kennen een beplanting van gemengd loofhout met restanten van naaldhout. Een rechte oprijlaan met dubbele laanbeplanting aan weerskanten voert aan op het huis. Deze zet zich met een bajonetvormig verloop voort met een enkele laanbeplanting aan beide zijden langs het huis tot aan de Ketelgatstraat. Voor het huis loopt een kleine rechte laan die haaks staat op de oprijlaan. Aan weerszijden liggen open weiden waarover vanuit het huis zichtlijnen op de weg en afsluitende bomenrijen zijn. Het huis en koetshuis liggen op een 'schiereiland' in een grillige waterpartij, de vergraven 17de-eeuwse gracht. De vijver heeft een uitloper naar de achter het huis liggende moestuin. Hier stond een pomp om de tuin van water te voorzien. Het verder van het huis liggende terrein bestaat uit een afwisseling van weiden en wandelbos, waaromheen een wandeling met laanbeplanting loopt. In het wandelbos een tweetal gegraven vijvers. Aan de oostkant van het terrein restanten van een rabattenbos met eikenhakhout voor de leerlooierijen.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the Spijkerbosch. This layout consists of a number of 18th-century elements (lanes, position of the kitchen garden) and an early 19th-century landscape park laid out around it with the house as centrepiece. The lanes are planted with oaks and beeches. The walking woods which are interrupted by meadows have a planting of mixed deciduous timber with remnants of coniferous timber. A straight approach drive with double lane planting on both sides leads to the house. This continues with a bayonet-shaped course with single lane planting on both sides along the house to the Ketelgatstraat. In front of the house runs a small straight lane which is at right angles to the approach drive. On either side lie open meadows from which sightlines from the house to the road and closing rows of trees are laid out. The house and coach house are situated on a 'peninsula' in an irregular water feature, the excavated 17th-century moat. The pond has an outlet to the kitchen garden behind the house. Here stood a pump to supply water to the garden. The terrain further from the house consists of an alternation of meadows and walking woods, around which runs a walk with lane planting. In the walking woods a pair of excavated ponds. On the east side of the terrain remnants of a parterres wood with oak coppice for the tanneries.
