Omschrijving
Inleiding
Openbare BASISSCHOOL 'Wilderinkschool', ontworpen in Amsterdamse School bouwstijl en in 1927 gebouwd in sociale woningbouwwijk De Nijverheid op een punt waar de Idastraat, Helenastraat en Marthastraat samenkomen. Aan de straatzijde is een erfscheiding geplaatst. In de voortuin (Z) is een kwartcirkelvormige vijver aangelegd.
Omschrijving
De school is in rode baksteen opgetrokken over één bouwlaag op een H-vormige plattegrond onder een samengesteld schilddak met geglazuurde antracietgrijze Hollandse pannen en een overstekende goot. In de dakvlakken zijn smalle, horizontale dakkapellen geplaatst. De gevels zijn aan de voorzijde (Z en W) geleed door grote vensters met een voornamelijk horizontale roedenverdeling, waarachter de lokalen. In de gevels aan de achterkant (N en O) zijn met name smalle horizontale vensters geplaatst, waarachter de gangen.
De hoofdentree bevindt zich op de hoek van één van de vleugels (ZW) aan de Idastraat. De gevel en kap wijken hier terug. Boven de ingang is een luifel geplaatst in de vorm van een verlengd dakvlak. Daarboven is een zeshoekig torentje met een overstekende spits op met lood beklede bollen geplaatst.
Links naast de entree, in de westelijke gevel, smalle verticale vensters onder de ijzeren letters die het opschrift "Openbare basisschool Wilderinkschool" vormen.
Links in de oostelijke gevel zijn eveneens smalle verticale vensters geplaatst. Rechts daarvan ligt de gevel iets terug en steunt het dak op ronde ijzeren kolommetjes. Voor het linker deel van deze galerij is een muurtje gemetseld. Bovenin het terugliggende geveldeel kleine vensters. Links in de noordelijke gevel verschaffen twee dubbele deuren onder een overstekend dakvlak toegang tot de speelplaats. De erfscheiding aan de straatzijde bestaat uit een gemetseld muurtje met brede penanten, waarop iets gebogen smeedijzeren stangen zijn aangebracht.
Van het interieur zijn onder meer de indeling en wand- en vloertegels bewaard gebleven.

A boundary fence has been placed at the street side. In the front garden (S) a quarter-circle shaped pond has been constructed.
Description
The school is constructed in red brick over one storey on an H-shaped ground plan under a composite hipped roof with glazed anthracite grey Dutch tiles and an overhanging gutter. Narrow, horizontal roof dormers are placed in the roof sections. The facades are articulated on the front (S and W) by large windows with predominantly horizontal glazing bars, behind which are the classrooms. In the facades at the back (N and E) mainly narrow horizontal windows are placed, behind which are the corridors.
The main entrance is located at the corner of one of the wings (SW) at the Idastraat. The facade and roof recede here. Above the entrance a canopy is placed in the form of an extended roof section. Above this is a hexagonal turret with an overhanging point placed on balls clad with lead.
To the left of the entrance, in the western facade, narrow vertical windows below the iron letters which form the inscription "Openbare basisschool Wilderinkschool".
Also in the eastern facade narrow vertical windows are placed on the left. To the right of these the facade recedes slightly and the roof is supported on round iron columns. In front of the left part of this gallery a small wall is mortared. At the top of the recessed facade section small windows. In the left part of the northern facade two double doors under an overhanging roof section provide access to the playground. The boundary fence at the street side consists of a mortared wall with broad pilasters, on which slightly curved wrought iron rods are affixed.
Of the interior among others the layout and wall and floor tiles have been preserved.
