Inleiding
BOERDERIJ van het Kop-romp-type gelegen aan de zuidzijde van de Dorpsweg. De boerderij, met voorhuis in eclectische stijl, dateert uit 1873 en is binnen het zelfde decennium tot stand gekomen als de verderop gelegen min of meer verwante boerderij van het Kop-romp-type aan de Dorpsweg 56.
Omschrijving
De boerderij is gebouwd op een noord-zuid gericht grondplan waarin twee rechthoeken gecombineerd worden. De meest noordelijke rechthoek bevat het voorhuis. De zuidelijke rechthoek, die hoger en breder is dan de eerste rechthoek, bevat de schuur. Deze aaneengebouwde bouwvolumes worden van elkaar gescheiden door een brandmuur. Beide bouwvolumes hebben één bouwlaag met kapverdieping. Het voorhuis heeft een licht hellend zadeldak met zwarte Hollandse pan. Het zadeldak heeft gesneden windveren met een makelaar en zes verticale houten sierelementen. De schuur heeft een schilddak dat op het noorden afgesneden wordt door een kops geveldeel dat boven het zadeldak van het noordelijke woongedeelte uitsteekt. Het schilddak is rietgedekt met een pannenrand aan de kapvoet. De pannenrand is bedekt met rode en zwarte Hollandse pannen. Het zuidelijk dakschild van het schilddak is voorzien van een spiegel, die net als de pannenrand bedekt is met rode en zwarte Holllandse pannen. De schuur heeft inwendig een uit vier pijlers bestaande vierkantsconstructie met dekbalkgebinten en overstek op het noorden, verankerd in de brandmuur. Het muurwerk van de boerderij is opgebouwd uit rode baksteen, gedecoreerd met pleister. De voorgevel (noord) van het voorhuis is symmetrisch van opzet en telt vijf vensterassen. De hoeken en de centrale as hebben gepleisterde bossages. De centrale as heeft een dubbele paneeldeur met getoogd bovenlicht en daarboven een op consoles rustend balkon dat wordt bereikt via een dubbele paneeldeur met grote glaspanelen en getoogd bovenlicht. De voordeur wordt geflankeerd door twee getoogde schuifvensters (T-profiel) met gepleisterde wenkbrauwen. De wenkbrauwen van de vensters in de voorgevel en de daaraan vrijwel identieke vensters in de beide zijgevels van het voorhuis worden door een cordonlijst met elkaar verbonden. De rechterzijde (oost) van het bedrijfsgedeelte heeft een reeks getoogde ijzeren koestalvensters. De achterzijde (zuid) van de schuur heeft rechts een darsdeur en links hiervan een reeks getoogde ijzeren stalvensters. De linkerzijde van de schuur heeft rechts een liggend drielichtsvenster en links hiervan een reeks getoogde ijzeren stalvensters.
Waardering
De uit 1873 daterende Kop-romp-boerderij is van algemeen belang uit architectuur- en cultuurhistorisch oogpunt als voorbeeld van een vrijwel gaaf bewaard gebleven negentiende-eeuwse boerderij met invloed van het eclecticisme. Tevens heeft de boerderij ensemblewaarde binnen het beschermde dorpsgezicht van Twisk.

FARMHOUSE of the Kop-romp type situated on the south side of the Dorpsweg. The farmhouse, with front house in eclectic style, dates from 1873 and was built within the same decade as the more or less related farmhouse of the Kop-romp type further along at Dorpsweg 56.
Description
The farmhouse is built on a north-south oriented ground plan in which two rectangles are combined. The most northern rectangle contains the front house. The southern rectangle, which is higher and wider than the first rectangle, contains the barn. These adjoining building volumes are separated from each other by a firewall. Both building volumes have one storey with roof space. The front house has a gently sloping gabled roof with black Dutch tile. The gabled roof has carved wind braces with a brace connector and six vertical wooden decorative elements. The barn has a hipped roof which on the north side is cut off by a gable end section that projects above the gabled roof of the northern residential part. The hipped roof is thatched with a pan border at the roof edge. The pan border is covered with red and black Dutch tiles. The southern roof hip of the hipped roof is provided with a gable, which like the pan border is covered with red and black Dutch tiles. The barn has internally a square-frame structure consisting of four pillars with tie-beam trusses and oversail to the north, anchored in the firewall. The eyebrows of the windows in the front facade and the virtually identical windows in both side facades of the front house are connected to each other by a drip moulding. The balcony is flanked by a round cast iron window with plastered surround. The right side facade (east) of the front house has four sash windows. The left side facade of the front house has on the right a round cast iron window, to the left of it two sash windows. The sash windows are identical in form and decoration to those in the front facade. However, the windows do not have T-profile. The front side (north) of the barn projecting on either side of the front house (firewall) has a threshing-floor door to the left of the front house and to the right of it a panel door with fanlight. The right side (east) of the business part has a series of arched iron stable windows. The rear side (south) of the barn has a threshing-floor door on the right and to the left of it a series of arched iron stable windows. The left side of the barn has on the right a horizontal three-light window and to the left of it a series of arched iron stable windows.
Valuation
The Kop-romp farmhouse dating from 1873 is of general importance from an architectural and cultural-historical perspective as an example of a nineteenth-century farmhouse preserved virtually intact with influences of eclecticism.
