Omschrijving complexonderdeel 1
Het witbepleisterde LANDHUIS is op een verhoging gelegen en heeft de voorgevel gericht op de Driebergseweg. Het pand bezit een kruisvormige plattegrond en bestaat uit een sousterrain en twee bouwlagen onder een afgeplat met blauwe Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak, waarvan de nokken voorzien zijn van een omlopende baluster-borstwering. De symmetrische voorgevel is drie vensterassen breed en heeft een middenrisaliet. In de begane grond bevinden zich drie achtruits dubbele deuren, waarvan de middelste, in het risaliet, omlijst wordt door een kroonlijst en pilasters met bladconsoles onder een balkon met ijzeren hekwerk. Een achtruits dubbele deur geeft toegang tot het balkon. Het risaliet wordt in de verdieping geflankeerd door een zesruits schuifvenster. De zijgevels van het middenrisaliet bevatten beide een achtruits dubbele deur op de begane grond en een zesruits schuifvenster erboven. In het dakvlak zijn drie dakkapellen aangebracht. De achtergevel, waarin zich de ingang in het middenrisaliet bevindt, is identiek ingedeeld als de voorgevel, thans echter zonder balkon. De linker zijgevel is eveneens symmetrisch ingedeeld en bezit twee achtruits dubbele deuren en op de verdieping twee zesruits schuifvensters met een ovaal oeil de boeuf-venster ertusssen. De rechter zijgevel bezit op de begane grond links een achtruits dubbele deur en rechts een kleiner vierruits venster. Erboven twee zesruits schuifvensters en een dichtgezet ovaal oeil de boeuf-venster. Alle vensters, waarvan tijdens de restauratie de luiken zijn verwijderd, hebben een kroonlijstje. Het interieur bezit in het souterrain nog de gewelfde kelders, met name onder de hal bestaande uit troggewelven op gekantelde houten balken. De indeling is oorspronkelijk.

Het landhuis van Hoog Beek en Royen is van architectuurhistorisch belang als goed voorbeeld van een sober witbepleisterd midden 19de eeuws landhuis in neoclassicistische traditie. Tevens is het landhuis van hoge ensemblewaarde vanwege de markante verhoogde ligging in een gaaf landschapspark.

The whitewashed COUNTRY HOUSE is situated on a raised site and has its front facade facing the Driebergseweg. The building has a cruciform ground plan and consists of a basement and two storeys beneath a flattened hipped roof covered with blue Dutch tiles, of which the ridges are provided with a running baluster balustrade. The symmetrical front facade is three window bays wide and has a central risalit. On the ground floor are three eight-paned double doors, of which the middle one, in the risalit, is framed by a cornice and pilasters with leaf consoles beneath a balcony with iron railwork. An eight-paned double door provides access to the balcony. The risalit is flanked on the first floor by a six-paned sash window on each side. The side facades of the central risalit each contain an eight-paned double door on the ground floor and a six-paned sash window above. Three roof dormers are inserted in the roof plane. The rear facade, in which the entrance in the central risalit is located, is identically arranged as the front facade, however now without balcony. The left side facade is likewise symmetrically arranged and has two eight-paned double doors and on the first floor two six-paned sash windows with an oval oeil de boeuf window between them. The right side facade has on the ground floor on the left an eight-paned double door and on the right a smaller four-paned window. Above two six-paned sash windows and a blocked oval oeil de boeuf window. All windows, of which the shutters were removed during restoration, have a small cornice. The interior has in the basement still the vaulted cellars, namely under the hall consisting of barrel vaults on tilted wooden beams. The arrangement is original.

The country house of Hoog Beek en Royen is of architectural-historical importance as a fine example of a sober whitewashed mid-19th century country house in neoclassical tradition. The country house is furthermore of high ensemble value because of the striking raised location in an intact landscape park.
