Inleiding
Houtopslagloods, gebouwd in 1905 voor houthandel van S. Posthuma IJzn. naar een ontwerp van G.F. Mastenbroek. De houtloodsdiende voor het opslaan en het drogen van hout. Ten behoeve van de luchtcirculatie zijn er openingen gelaten tussen de wanden van de zij- en achtergevel. Het hout werd aan de achterzijde aangevoerd en onder een overkapping uitgeladen. De deuren in de voorgevel dienden voor de afvoer van de verschillende soorten hout.
Omschrijving
De aan de Overstraat gelegen HOUTOPSLAGLOODS is op een rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken en telt drie bouwlagen onder een met kruispannen gedekte kap met de nok haaks op de weg.
Het dak is aan de achterzijde afgewolfd en verder doorgetrokken tot de tweede bouwlaag. De loods is opgetrokken uit verticale houten delen, aan de voorgevel met aaneengesloten rabatdelen, aan de zijgevels met smalle openingen tussen de planken.
De voorgevel aan de Overstraat heeft vier traveeën. De terugliggende houten wanden worden gescheiden door dragende schoorbalken, waartussen de verdiepingen zijn geplaatst. De rechter travee bevat een etalageruit. In de tweede bouwlaag zijn vier paar stolpende deuren gezet. De derde bouwlaag bevat twee paar stolpende deuren met twee enkele deuren ter weerszijden. De topgevel is voorzien van een beplanking van rabatdelen.
De rechterzijgevel bestaat uit een aaneengesloten beplanking in de eerste bouwlaag en een beplanking met kieren in de erboven gelegen bouwlagen.
De linkerzijgevel heeft een aaneengeloten verticale beplanking.
De achtergevel heeft een open karakter. Het afgewolfde deel van het dak overhuift de gevel.
Waardering

Description
The WOOD STORAGE SHED on the Overstraat is erected on a rectangular plan and comprises three storeys under a roof covered with interlocking tiles with the ridge perpendicular to the road.
The roof is curved at the rear and further extended to the second storey. The shed is built of vertical wooden sections, on the front facade with continuous tongue-and-groove boards, on the side facades with narrow openings between the planks.
The front facade on the Overstraat has four bays. The recessed wooden walls are separated by load-bearing braces, between which the floors are placed. The right bay contains a shop window. In the second storey are four pairs of tilting doors. The third storey contains two pairs of tilting doors with two single doors on either side. The gabled end is provided with a lining of tongue-and-groove boards.
The right side facade consists of continuous planking in the first storey and planking with gaps in the storeys above.
The left side facade has continuous vertical planking.
The back facade has an open character. The curved part of the roof overhangs the facade.
Valuation
