Inleiding
Brandspuithuisje annex arrestantenlokaal, volgens gedenksteen in de puntgevel in 1888 gebouwd. Uitgevoerd in eclectische stijl naar ontwerp van de bouwkundige J.A. Frederiks.
Omschrijving
Tweezijdig aangebouwd pand op rechthoekige plattegrond, één bouwlaag en een zadeldak hoog. Geheel opgetrokken in rode baksteen. De gevels zijn verrijkt met natuurstenen speklagen, sluitstenen, blokjes, afdekplaten en gevelstenen, waterlijst en ijzeren muurankers.
De zuidelijke gevel is een schoudergevel met twee schouders, die op de begane grond voorzien is van een dubbele houten deur met aan weerszijden een smal, hoog venster met latei en rondboogje. Op de verdieping een houten kozijn met stolpraam met roedeverdeling en bovenlicht met roedeverdeling; houten luiken voor de onderramen; venster afgesloten door een latei en een rondboogje. Aan weerszijden van dit venster een natuurstenen, ronde gevelsteen met in de rechter steen het jaartal 1888. De top van de gevel eindigt in een smalle, rechthoekige hals.
De langsgevel aan de Markt wordt in het midden onderbroken door een gedeeltelijk uitstekende, achthoekige traptoren die bekroond wordt door een achtvlaks torenhelm gedekt met leien in maasdekking. De toren is voorzien van speklagen. Langsgeveldelen eveneens met speklagen en smalle, hoge vensters met latei en rondboogje, enkele met glas-in-lood. Rechts van de toren een eenvoudige getoogde houten deur. Langsgeveldelen afgesloten door een fries met siermetselwerk en een houten gootlijst.
Het zadeldak is gedekt met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen.

Description
Two-sided adjoining building on rectangular floor plan, one storey and a gabled roof. Entirely built in red brick. The facades are enriched with natural stone banding, keystones, blocks, coping plates and facade stones, drip moulding and iron wall anchors.
The southern facade is a shoulder gable with two shoulders, which on the ground floor is provided with a double wooden door with on either side a narrow, high window with lintel and round arch. On the upper storey a wooden frame with transom window with glazing bars and fanlight with glazing bars; wooden shutters for the lower windows; window closed off by a lintel and a round arch. On either side of this window a natural stone, round facade stone with on the right stone the date 1888. The top of the gable ends in a narrow, rectangular neck.
The long facade on the Markt is interrupted in the middle by a partially projecting, octagonal tower staircase which is crowned by an eight-faceted tower helm covered with slate in Dutch bond. The tower is provided with banding. Long facade sections likewise with banding and narrow, high windows with lintel and round arch, some with leaded glass.
