Inleiding
WOONHUIS met aangebouwd ACHTERHUIS bij voormalige stoomzaag- en korenmolen, in 1853 gebouwd door Jan Tjarks Houtman uit Holwierde in een ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant met eclectische elementen. Het huis is na de herberg het tweede huis dat in het dorp werd gebouwd. Sindsdien is Winneweer rond de houtzagerij en dit huis ontstaan. In 1858 kocht D. Nanninga de woning tezamen met de molen. Hij zorgde ervoor dat het bedrijf in de loop der tijd uitgroeide tot een bloeiende houthandel. In 1981 moest het bedrijf zijn deuren sluiten wegens faillissement.
De woning is waarschijnlijk omstreeks de eeuwwisseling aan de voorzijde uitgebreid met een SERRE. In de jaren dertig van de 20ste eeuw is het achterhuis verlengd en uitgebreid met een garage. Het geheel is zeer markant gelegen aan het Damsterdiep op het terrein van de voormalige houthandel.
Omschrijving
WONING met aangebouwd achterhuis opgetrokken in 1853 in een bruine bezande baksteen op een gepleisterd trasraam. Het achterhuis uit de jaren dertig bestaat uit gesinterde baksteen. Met het plaatsen van de serre in het midden van de voorzijde (oostgevel) is de hoofdentree verplaatst naar de zijkant.
Het voorhuis is gebouwd op een rechthoekige plattegrond en heeft een schilddak gedekt met een zwart geglazuurde platte Friese pan,waarop twee gemetselde schoorstenen prijken. Het dak wordt omlijst door een kroonlijst met houten klossen. Achtruits vensters met ronde schouders en stucomlijsting met kuif en rollaag geleden de gevels: de oostgevel heeft er vier, de noord- en zuidgevel elk twee en de westgevel heeft er één. Een gepleisterde cordonlijst verbindt de gepleisterde onderdorpels. De houten serre met plat dak en geprofileerde gootlijst is gebouwd op betonnen pijlers die worden verhuld door een houten ombouw en heeft afgesnoten hoeken. In de zijkanten van de serre twee vijftienruits vensters, in de rechter afgesnoten hoek een glasdeur met zesruits bovenlicht, in de linker afgesnoten hoek een venster met zesruits bovenlicht en aan de voorzijde nog twee met zesruits bovenlicht. Boven de serre bevindt zich in het dakvlak een bakstenen dakkapel met een gepleisterde gevelband, plat dak, goot op klossen en twee zesruits vensters met ronde schouders en stucomlijsting. Het ACHTERHUIS, onder een driezijdig schilddak met steekkap, gedekt met een zwarte platte Friese pan, heeft een gemetselde schoorsteen op de nok en een geprofileerde goot. De vensters hebben bijna alle ronde schouders met een rollaag. De entree bevindt zich aan de zuidzijde in een doorgetrokken geveldeel onder een steekkap en bestaat uit een gelakte houten deur met vier glasruitjes en een tweeruits bovenlicht met geschilderde glas-in-lood strips onder een rollaag. Boven de deur drie openslaande vensters met bovenlicht. Links van de deur een licht getoogd samengesteld zesruitsvenster met geschilderde glas-in-lood strips onder een rollaag en rechts van de deur twee horizontale vierruits vensters. De achtergevel (westzijde) heeft een dubbele houten garagedeur met geometrische geplaatst lijstwerk en twee vierruits vensters. In het dakvlak van de westgevel is een smalle, platte dakkapel met driedelig venster aangebracht. De noordgevel heeft twee zesruits vensters, die worden geflankeerde door twee kleinere, vierruits vensters. Het gedeelte van de noordgevel dat grenst aan het woonhuis bestaat nog uit oude baksteen (bruine bezande) en heeft twee omlijste zesruits vensters met kuif en rollaag, waaronder twee keldervensters met diefijzers, ook met omlijsting, kuif en rollaag. In het dakvlak erboven bevindt zich een platte dakkapel uit de jaren dertig van deze eeuw.

DWELLING with adjoining REAR HOUSE at a former steam sawmill and corn mill, built in 1853 by Jan Tjarks Houtman from Holwierde in a craft-traditional building style with eclectic elements. The front house is built on a rectangular ground plan and has a hipped roof clad with black glazed flat Frisian tiles, on which two brick chimneys stand. The roof is framed by a cornice with wooden brackets. Eight-pane windows with round shoulders and stucco moulding with hood and roll moulding articulate the gables: the east gable has four, the north and south gables each have two and the west gable has one. A plastered string course connects the plastered sills. The wooden conservatory with flat roof and moulded gutter is built on concrete pillars which are concealed by wooden casing and has cut-off corners. In the sides of the conservatory two fifteen-pane windows, in the right cut-off corner a glass door with six-pane fanlight, in the left cut-off corner a window with six-pane fanlight and on the front two more with six-pane fanlight. Above the conservatory in the roof slope is a brick roof dormer with a plastered gable band, flat roof, gutter on brackets and two six-pane windows with round shoulders and stucco moulding. The REAR HOUSE, under a three-sided hipped roof with cut-in gable, clad with black flat Frisian tiles, has a brick chimney on the ridge and a moulded gutter. The windows almost all have round shoulders with a roll moulding. The entrance is located on the south side in a continuous gable section under a cut-in gable and consists of a painted wooden door with four glass panes and a two-pane fanlight with painted leaded-glass strips under a roll moulding. Above the door three casement windows with fanlight. To the left of the door a slightly arched composite six-pane window with painted leaded-glass strips under a roll moulding and to the right of the door two horizontal four-pane windows. The rear gable (west side) has a double wooden garage door with geometric fielded panels and two four-pane windows. In the roof slope of the west gable a narrow, flat roof dormer with three-part window has been installed. The north gable has two six-pane windows, which are flanked by two smaller, four-pane windows. The part of the north gable that borders the main house still consists of old brick (brown rendered) and has two framed six-pane windows with hood and roll moulding, below which two cellar windows with theft bars, also with moulding, hood and roll moulding. In the roof slope above is a flat roof dormer from the 1930s.
In the INTERIOR the following are notable: the wooden panelled doors, the wooden floor, the ceiling with plaster decoration, the arch with plastered tree of life and the glass doors to the conservatory, all in the hall of the front house; the richly decorated wooden fireplace surround in the living room.
