Inleiding
In het oude centrum van Olst staat op de hoek van de Geertsstraat en de H. Droststraat dit voormalige CAFE ANNEX WOONHUIS. Het and is rond 1890 gebouwd in een gematigde Eclectische stijl met Classicistische stijlelementen. De veranda is recentelijk gerestaureerd. De aan de achterzijde gelegen schuur bevat geen monumentale waarde en valt buiten de bescherming. Tegenwoordig is in het woongedeelte een winkel gevestigd.
Omschrijving
Een bouwlaag tellend pand opgetrokken in rode machinale baksteen op een gepleisterde plint met schijnvoegen. Het afgeknotte schilddak loopt deels rond en is gedekt met kruispannen. De gevel wordenbeëidigd door een kroonlijst. De muuropeningen hebben voor een deel getoogde, gestucte profiellijsten met kuiven. Voorgevel met hoog ingangsrisaliet onder een steekkap met trekbalkje. De entree met bovenlicht is in een omlijste portiek geplaatst met daarboven een Frans balkon voor dubbele balkondeuren onder een bovenlicht. Links van de entree twee zesruits vensters. Op de straathoek een entree onder bovenlicht met aan weerszijden een etalageruit onder een vierlicht met houten koven voor rolluiken. Geheel rechts twee zesruits vensters.
Achtergevel (Z) met houten veranda en serre onder een lessenaarsdak met golvende windveren.

Cafe annex woonhuis van algemeen architectuurhistorisch en stedebouw-kundig belang:

Description
A single-storey building constructed in red machine-made brick on a plastered plinth with false joints. The truncated hipped roof curves partly and is covered with pantiles. The facade is terminated by a cornice. Some of the wall openings have arched, stuccoed mouldings with hood mouldings. Front facade with a tall entrance risalit under a sloping roof with tie beam. The entrance with fanlight is placed in a framed porch with above it a French balcony for double French doors under a fanlight. To the left of the entrance two six-light windows. At the street corner an entrance under fanlight with on either side a shop window under a four-light with wooden frames for roller shutters. On the far right two six-light windows.
