Zuidoostelijke reeks proefwoningen naar rationalistisch ontwerp van J.H. Mulder jr. volgens systeem Winget uit 1920-1921.

Zuidoostelijk aan het Castorplein gelegen rij van 8 proefwoningen in beton, bestaande uit twee volledige bouwlagen onder een langgerekt, licht hellend dwarsgeplaatst schilddak gedekt met donkerblauwe pannen. De structuur van de korte betonblokken is door de huidige pleisterlaag zichtbaar. Men heeft gebruik gemaakt van het uit Engeland afkomstige blokkenbouw-systeem Winget. De muren hebben een 6 cm. brede spouw, een buitenwand van grindbeton en een binnenwand van spijkerbare slakkenbeton. De betonblokken zijn in hafsteensverband gezet. De buitenwand is voorzien van een witte pleisterlaag.
De toegangsdeuren met zijlichten, in een landelijke Amsterdamse School-stijl, zijn paarsgewijs en regelmatig in de gevel geplaatst. De houten vensterkozijnen van de per woning gekoppelde drielichten hadden oorspronkelijk een roedenverdeling.
Waardering
Zuidoostelijke reeks van experimentele betonwoningen, onderdeel van het complex proefwoningen rondom het Castorplein, van algemeen belang wegens architectuur- en bouwhistorische waarde alsook wegens het pionierskarakter en de ensemblewaarde in relatie tot het Tuindorp Oostzaan.

Description
Southeastern situated at the Castorplein row of 8 experimental dwellings in concrete, consisting of two full storeys under an elongated, gently sloping transversely positioned hipped roof covered with dark blue tiles. The structure of the short concrete blocks is visible through the current render. Use was made of the block construction system Winget originating from England. The walls have a 6 cm. wide cavity, an outer wall of gravel concrete and an inner wall of nailable slag concrete. The concrete blocks are laid in half-brick bond. The outer wall is provided with a white render layer.
The access doors with sidelights, in a rural Amsterdam School style, are placed pairwise and regularly in the facade. The wooden window frames of the coupled three-light windows per dwelling originally had glazing bar divisions.
Valuation
Southeastern row of experimental concrete dwellings, part of the complex of experimental dwellings around the Castorplein, of general importance because of architectural and construction-historical value as well as because of the pioneering character and the ensemble value in relation to the Tuindorp Oostzaan.
