Inleiding
Villa, thans als kantoor (architectenbureau Cor Kalfsbeek) in gebruik, gebouwd in eclectische trant rond 1900 gebouwd. Vanaf 1956 tot 1964 is het pand in gebruik geweest als ambtswoning voor de burgemeester. Bij de verbouwing daartoe is de serre verwijderd. Na '64 is het pand geheel tot kantoorruimte bestemd. Het exterieur heeft hierbij slechts minimale wijzigingen ondergaan. In 1977 heeft het pand opnieuw relatief kleine wijzigingen ondergaan bij de verbouwing tot architectenbureau. De oorspronkelijke indeling is grotendeels gehandhaafd. (Veluxen in het dak). Perceel afgebakend door leilindes achter een fraai ijzeren tuinhek op bakstenen basement.
De bescherming betreft het exterieur en de tuinaanleg met erfscheiding.
Omschrijving
Villa opgetrokken is baksteen over één bouwlaag met afgeknot schilddak met shingles gedekt. Langs de dakranden kammen van siersmeedwerk. Het pand staat op een plint en heeft een forse kroonlijst rondom. Ter hoogte van raamdorpels, wisseldorpels en bovendorpels lopen spekbanden rondom. Gevelopeningen zijn segmentboogvormig met aanzet- en sluitstenen. Alle schuifvensters zijn rechtgesloten, in de boogtrommels decoratief rolwerk.
Symmetrische voorgevel met hoekpilasters en een zwaar aangezette entreepartij. Op de begane grond hiervan een portiek in een pilasterstelling met diamantkoppen, met daarin de gewijzigde voordeur. Op de verdieping een balkon op zware consoles met gutae en twee dubbele openslaande deuren met rondboog bovenlichten. De dakkapel is uitgevoerd als aedicula. Aan weerszijden van de entree twee schuifvensters.
In de linkerzijgevel drie schuifvensters. In de rechter vier, enkelen doorgezet naar onderen. In de dakschilden dakkapellen met ronde vensters.
Waardering
Voormalige woning van cultuur-, architectuurhistorische en stedebouwkundig belang:

Description
Villa built in brick over one storey with truncated hipped roof covered with shingles. Along the roof edges ornamental ironwork crests. The property stands on a plinth and has a substantial cornice all around. At the level of window sills, alternating sills and head sills run decorative bands around. Gable openings are segment-arch shaped with setting and closing stones. All sash windows are straight-headed, with decorative scrollwork in the arch barrels.
Symmetrical front facade with corner pilasters and a heavily emphasized entrance section. On the ground floor thereof a portico in pilaster setting with diamond-headed rustication, with the modified front door therein. On the upper storey a balcony on heavy consoles with guttae and two double opening doors with round-arch fanlights. The roof dormer is executed as an aedicula. On either side of the entrance two sash windows.
In the left side elevation three sash windows. In the right four, some extended downwards. In the roof pitches dormer windows with round windows.
