Inleiding
In 1881 gebouwd woonhuis onder leiding van aannemer Fik uit Kampen, deel uitmakend van een rij van vier identieke woningen. De rij woningen werd gebouwd ter plaatse van de omstreeks 1855 ontmantelde vestingwerken van de stad Kampen.
Omschrijving
Het onderhavige pand is een tussenwoning en is gebouwd op een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het pand is twee volledige bouwlagen hoog en wordt gedekt door een met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak. De voorgevel van het pand is drie bouwlagen hoog en heeft neoclassicistische stijlkenmerken als een zware kroonlijst met fries en heeft aan weerszijden woningscheidende lisenen. De gevel is vier traveeën breed. Op de beganegrond bevinden zich H-vensters en op de verdiepingen T-vensters. Boven de entree met originele voordeur bevindt zich een door sierlijke consoles ondersteund balkon. Aan weerszijden van de entree een decoratie van geprofileerde lisenen. De uitbouw aan de achterzijde op de beganegrond is van jongere datum. De vensters in de achtergevel zijn gedeeltelijk vervangen. Op het dakschild zijn twee dakkapellen geplaatst. Het interieur kenmerkt zich door de ruimtelijke indeling en diverse bewaard gebleven onderdelen als paneeldeuren, geprofileerde kozijnen, (rijk bewerkte) stucplafonds en op de bel-etage suitedeuren, binnenluiken, vensterbanken en schouwen.
Waardering
Het woonhuis uit 1881 is van algemeen cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch en stedenbouwkundig belang. Het pand heeft grote cultuurhistorische waarde als gaaf bewaard gebleven woonhuis dat gebouwd werd op de plaats waar tot ca. 1855 de vestingwerken van de stad lagen en is derhalve zeer kenmerkend voor de ontwikkeling van de stad Kampen. Het pand heeft architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de harmonische verhoudingen van de voorgevel in combinatie met de verzorgde details en het traditionele materiaalgebruik. Het pand is van belang wegens de grote samenhang van het exterieur met het grotendeels gaaf bewaarde interieur. Het pand heeft stedenbouwkundige waarde vanwege de ligging aan het park aan de IJssel en de ensemblewaarde vanwege de relatie met de overige drie panden in dezelfde rij.

In 1881 a dwelling house was built under the direction of contractor Fik from Kampen, forming part of a row of four identical dwellings. The row of dwellings was built in place of the fortification works of the city of Kampen, dismantled around 1855.
Description
The present property is a terraced house and is built on a rectangular plan. The property is two full storeys high and is covered by a hipped roof covered with damaged Dutch tiles. The front facade of the property is three storeys high and has neoclassical style features such as a heavy cornice with frieze and has on either side separating pilasters. The facade is four bays wide. On the ground floor there are H-windows and on the upper floors T-windows. Above the entrance with original front door is a balcony supported by ornamental consoles. On either side of the entrance a decoration of moulded pilasters. The rear extension on the ground floor is of later date. The windows in the rear facade have been partly replaced. Two dormer windows have been placed on the roof pitch. The interior is characterized by the spatial layout and various preserved components such as panelled doors, moulded frames, (richly worked) stucco ceilings and on the piano nobile suite doors, interior shutters, window sills and chimney breasts.

The dwelling house from 1881 is of general cultural- and architectural-historical and urban planning importance. The property has great cultural-historical value as a well-preserved dwelling house built at the place where until circa 1855 the fortification works of the city of Kampen lay and is therefore highly characteristic of the development of the city of Kampen.
