Inleiding
Herenhuis in 1908 vrijwel geheel nieuw gebouwd op de restanten van een afgebroken pand. Opdrachtgever was de heer H.T. Terry; uitvoerder de firma P. Krijger & Zoon te Middelburg.
Gebouwd in geometrische Art Nouveau. Onderdeel van een gesloten gevelwand.
Omschrijving
Herenhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond met aan achtergevel enkele aanbouwsels. Twee bouwlagen hoog met een kelder en een kapverdieping; mansardedak gedekt met rode hollandse pannen; aanbouwen aan achterzijde met plat.
De symmetrische voorgevel is opgetrokken uit gele en rode baksteen en voorzien van natuurstenen plint vensterbanken, lateien, stijlen, gedenksteen, daklijst en bolbekroning op hoeken. Begane grond met centrale ingangspartij onder gemetselde rondboog met houten uitgesneden voordeur, boven- en zijlichten met gekleurd glas-in-lood (gesigneerd G.D. Labots, Rotterdam). Aan weerszijden ingang twee houten kruiskozijnen met schuiframen met glas-in-lood bovenlichten. Op verdieping dezelfde kruiskozijnen en boven ingangspartij twee schuiframen. Bovenste verdieping met kleine, gekoppelde vensters waarvan middelste twee oorspronkelijke rond waren. Gedenksteen met bouwjaar 1908. Gevelbeeïndiging met natuurstenen platen.
De achtergevel bestaat uit diverse rechthoekige aanbouwen uit verschillende bouwperioden; veelal schuiframen.
Rijk interieur uit de bouwtijd in Art Nouveau met onder meer hal en houten trappenhuis voorzien van tegelwerk als lambrizering; schoorstenen, waaronder die in rechtervoorkamer met tegeltableau met landschap; deuren; glas-in-lood in lichtkoker boven trappenhuis (gesigneerd G.D. Labots, Rotterdam) en in klapdeurtjes in hal.

Description
Mansion on a rectangular floor plan with some outbuildings at the rear facade. Two storeys high with a basement and a roof storey; mansard roof covered with red Dutch tiles; outbuildings at the rear with flat roof.
The symmetrical front facade is built in yellow and red brick and provided with ashlar plinth, window sills, lintels, pilasters, commemorative stone, eaves and corner consoles. Ground floor with central entrance section under a brick semicircular arch with wooden carved front door, transom and side lights with coloured leaded glass (signed G.D. Labots, Rotterdam). On either side of the entrance two wooden cross windows with sash windows with leaded glass fanlights. On the first floor the same cross windows and above the entrance section two sash windows. Upper storey with small coupled windows, the middle two of which were originally round. Commemorative stone with construction year 1908. Gable termination with ashlar slabs.
The rear facade consists of various rectangular outbuildings from different building periods; mostly sash windows.
Rich interior from the building period in Art Nouveau including a hall and wooden staircase with tilework as wall panelling; fireplaces, including that in the right front room with a tile tableau with landscape; doors; leaded glass in the light-well above the staircase (signed G.D. Labots, Rotterdam) and in the folding doors in the hall.
Valuation
Mansion whose exterior as well as interior is of architectural-historical significance. Of significance because of its integrity and because of the rarity of especially the interior.
