Inleiding
Vermoedelijk omstreeks 1845 aangebrachte coupure in de dijk tussen de oudere Beukelspolder en de in 1845 bedijkte Paulinapolder. Door deze bedijking werd de betreffende dijk een binnendijk.
Omschrijving
De coupure bestaat uit muren van ruim een meter hoogte met dubbele balksponningen, opgetrokken uit rode handvorm baksteen in kruisverband.
Aan weerszijden van de muren bevinden zich, volgens het profiel van de dijk, schuin aflopende keermuren. Direct naast de coupure bevindt zich op het noord-westelijke dijkgedeelte een schotbalkhuisje onder een los, houten, met bitumen afgedekt, zadeldakje.
Waardering
Waterkeringselement van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als karakteristiek historisch element in een kleinschalig poldergebied.

The sluice consists of walls just over one metre in height with double beam slots, constructed from red handmade brick in Flemish bond.
On both sides of the walls, according to the dike's profile, there are sloping retaining walls. Directly adjacent to the sluice, on the north-western dike section, there is a schotbalk hut beneath a loose wooden gabled roof covered with bitumen.
