Omschrijving
KRUISKERK met schoudertransept op Latijns kruisvormige plattegrond, opgetrokken in machinale baksteen onder zadeldaken, gedekt met geglazuurde pannen. Op de nok boven het koor een kruis. Tegen het koor een absis. Als westwerk een narthex onder zadeldak, geflankeerd door een vierkante klokkentoren onder een steil, onderaan concaaf gewelfd tentdak. Koor en transeptarmen tellen één, het schip twee traveeën. Op de traveescheiding van het schip steunberen. Alle traveeën van koor en schip hebben een drieruits venster onder spitsboog met uitkragende betonnen latei en glas-in-lood. In de transepten gelijksoortige vierruits vensters. Het westwerk heeft een roosvenster met zespas ingevuld glas-in-lood, boven een dubbele toegangsdeur onder spitsboog. Aan de voet van de toren een poortgebouw over twee bouwlagen onder zadeldak. De doorgang bevindt zich in een portaal met spitsboog. Erboven in metalen letters de tekst: " Miserorum et Afflictuorum Asylon". Daarboven zes vensters met glas-in-lood. Boven de narthex, die via drie doorgangen onder spitsbogen toegang tot het schip biedt, een orgelbalkon eveneens onder een spitsboog. Onder de toren een kapelletje. De kerk bezit het originele bankenplan. Koor, altaar en koorscheiding zijn in het kader van het Tweede Vaticaanse Concilie gemoderniseerd.

CRUCIFORM CHURCH with shouldered transept on a Latin cross-shaped plan, erected in machine-made brick under saddle roofs, covered with glazed tiles. On the ridge above the choir a cross. Against the choir an apse. As a western section a narthex under a saddle roof, flanked by a square bell tower under a steep roof, concavely vaulted at the base. Choir and transept arms have one, the nave two bays. On the bay divisions of the nave buttresses. All bays of choir and nave have a three-light window under a pointed arch with projecting concrete lintels and stained glass. In the transepts similar four-light windows. The western section has a rose window with six-petal stained glass infill, above a double entrance door under a pointed arch. At the foot of the tower a gate building over two storeys under a saddle roof. The passage is situated in a portal with a pointed arch. Above it in metal letters the text: "Miserorum et Afflictuorum Asylon". Above this six windows with stained glass. At right angles to this a meeting room over one storey with a flat roof, extending to the building line. In the angle between narthex and nave an extension under a vault roof which, via a flight of steps with a platform, provides access to the processional garden. The sacristy and the rectory are situated in the eastern angle between choir and transept. The INTERIOR is executed in fair-faced brickwork. The crossing, choir, transepts and bays are all provided with cross-ribbed vaults. The bay and crossing divisions have pointed arches. The apse has a semi-circular plan in the interior. Above the narthex, which provides access to the nave via three passages under pointed arches, an organ gallery likewise under a pointed arch. Beneath the tower a small chapel. The church retains the original pew plan. Choir, altar and choir screen have been modernised following the Second Vatican Council.
