Inleiding
Coupure in de dijk tussen de Ankerverepolder en de Polder De Breede Watering Bewesten Yerseke ten behoeve van het trein- en wegverkeer. De coupure dateert uit de tijd van de aanleg van de spoorlijn Goes-Middelburg in 1872 en is voorzien van een schotbalkhuisje.
Omschrijving
De dijkcoupure bestaat uit twee, afzonderlijk af te sluiten, doorgangen: één brede doorgang ten behoeve van het treinverkeer welke is af te sluiten door middel van een dubbele rij schotbalken en een smallere doorgang ten behoeve van wegverkeer welke is af te sluiten door middel van één enkele geklonken stalen deur. De draairichting van de deur gaat uit van wateroverlast vanuit de Polder De Breede Watering Bewesten Yerseke. Deursponningen en schotbalksponningen, de afdekking van de deurscharnierpartij en de hoekblokken van het scheidingswerk tussen de twee doorgangen zijn grotendeels uitgevoerd in betonblokken. Het metselwerk van de scheiding tussen de doorgangen en van de dijkbeëindigingen welke het profiel van de dijk volgen, is opgetrokken uit rood-bruine, machinale baksteen met vlechtingen als afwerking van de schuine vlakken.
Op de kruin van de dijk, direct naast de spoor-doorgang, bevindt zich het met een zadeldakje afgedekte schotbalkhuisje.

Break in the dike between the Ankerverepolder and the Polder De Breede Watering Bewesten Yerseke for rail and road traffic. The break dates from the time of the construction of the Goes-Middelburg railway line in 1872 and is equipped with a flood-gate house.
Description
The dike break consists of two, separately closeable, passages: one wide passage for rail traffic which can be closed by means of a double row of flood-gates and a narrower passage for road traffic which can be closed by means of a single riveted steel door. The direction of opening of the door allows for water overflow from the Polder De Breede Watering Bewesten Yerseke. Door frames and flood-gate frames, the covering of the door hinge section and the corner blocks of the partition between the two passages are largely executed in concrete blocks. The brickwork of the partition between the passages and of the dike terminations which follow the profile of the dike, is built of red-brown, machine-made brick with herringbone bond as a finish to the sloped planes.
On the crown of the dike, directly adjacent to the rail passage, is located the flood-gate house covered with a small gabled roof.
