Inleiding
VILLA, gelegen aan een oude uitvalsweg van het kerkdorp Zeelst. Het huis in expressionistische landhuisstijl werd in 1928 gebouwd naar ontwerp van architect A. Valk en is thans in gebruik als restaurant. Er achter een latere uitbreiding welke niet beschermd wordt.
Omschrijving
Eénlaags pand onder een hoog, geknikt zadeldak op een T-vormige plattegrond. Het pand is uitgevoerd in baksteen (smalle gele stenen), het samengestelde dak heeft windveren en is gedekt met riet. Hetlinker uiteinde van de voorgevel heeft een dwarsgeplaatste bouwmassa met topgevel. Aan de achterzijde is naast deze topgevel nog een topgevel zichtbaar. Aan de kopse gevel, rechts, is een spitsboogvormige erker aangebracht. Boven deze erker bevindt zich een balkon met een betimmerde balustrade. De rechthoekige erker aan de linkerkant is een toevoeging uit de jaren '70. Achter het pand bevindt zich een éénlaagse aanbouw onder plat dak.
De ramen zijn voor twee-derde gedeelte gevuld met glas-in-lood. Op de begane grond zijn luiken aangebracht. In de topgevel bevinden zich ramen met roedenverdeling, de dakkapellen bestaan uit een band samengestelde ramen. De erker heeft terrasdeuren. De hoofdingang bestaat uit een houten rondboogdeur in een natuurstenen omlijsting. In deze omlijsting is de inskriptie PAX TERRE OMNIBUS gegraveerd. Aan weerszijden van de deur zijn smalle glas-in-lood ramen zichtbaar. Voor de deur strekt zich een bordes uit met bakstenen trap.
In het interieur zijn diverse elementen uit de bouwtijd bewaard gebleven. Deze bevinden zich in de entree en gang. Voorbeelden daarvan zijn de tegelmozaïekvloer, de betegelde lambrizeringen, de trappartij en glas-in-lood ramen. Het pand wordt omgeven door een tuin, het huis ligt hierin centraal, verhoogd ten opzichte van de straat.
Waardering
Het pand is van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de vormgeving en het materiaalgebruik en vanwege de plaats die het ontwerp inneemt in het oeuvre van archictect Valk.

Introduction
VILLA, situated on an old approach road to the village church of Zeelst. The house in expressionistic country house style was built in 1928 according to designs by architect A. Valk and is currently in use as a restaurant. Behind it is a later extension which is not protected.
Description
Single-storey building under a high, bent gabled roof on a T-shaped floor plan. The building is executed in brickwork (narrow yellow stones); the combined roof has wind ties and is covered with thatch. The left end of the front facade has a transversely placed building mass with a stepped gable. On the rear side, alongside this stepped gable, another stepped gable is visible. On the gable end, to the right, a pointed-arch-shaped oriel has been applied. Above this oriel is a balcony with a timber balustrade. The rectangular oriel on the left side is an addition from the 1970s. Behind the building is a single-storey extension under a flat roof.
The windows are filled with leaded glass to two-thirds. On the ground floor shutters have been applied. In the stepped gable are windows with glazing bars; the roof dormers consist of a band of combined windows. The oriel has terrace doors. The main entrance consists of a wooden segmental-arched door in a natural stone frame. In this frame is inscribed the text PAX TERRE OMNIBUS. On either side of the door are narrow leaded glass windows visible. In front of the door stretches a platform with a brick stair.
In the interior, various elements from the time of construction have been preserved. These are located in the entrance hall and corridor. Examples include the tile mosaic floor, the tiled wainscoting, the staircase and leaded glass windows. The building is surrounded by a garden, the house lying centrally within it, raised in relation to the street.
