Inleiding
Gebouwd als koetsierswoning naar ontwerp van A. Zwikker uit Meppel en in opdracht van Mr. Linthorst Homan. De vormgeving is in Neorenaissance stijl. De woning ligt nabij de gemetselde ingangsmuur.

KOETSIERSWONING in baksteen opgetrokken en gedekt door een met Tuile du Nord belegd schilddak; schoorsteen in de nok; zij- en achtergevel voorzien van goot op uitgemetselde klossen. Symmetrisch ingedeelde trapgevel met kruiskozijnen met roedeverdeling, onderluiken en segmentbogen welke zijn voorzien van aanzet- en sluitstenen. Oostelijke zijgevel met een half kruiskozijn, vervolgens een sprong waarin de rondboog toegangsdeur onder ontlastingsboog met aanzet- en sluitstenen; daarboven een ovaalvormig zesruitsvenster; lagere zijgevel met onder meer een gekoppeld vierruits venster. Asymmetrische achtergevel met links een vierruits venster met luik, een rechtgesloten toegangsdeur, een tweede vierruits venster met luik; rechts een tot venster omgebouwd loopdeur met negenruits bovenlicht. De westelijke zijgevel heeft links een kruiskozijn als in voorgevel en geheel rechts een half kruiskozijn zoals in oostgevel.

COACHMAN'S HOUSE constructed in brick and covered by a hipped roof with Tuile du Nord tiles; chimney in the ridge; side and rear gables provided with guttering on projecting brick corbels. Symmetrically arranged stepped gable with cross windows with glazing bars, lower shutters and segmental arches which are provided with voussoirs and keystones. Eastern side gable with a half cross window, followed by a step in which the round-arch entrance door under relieving arch with voussoirs and keystones; above this an oval-shaped six-pane window; lower side gable with among other things a coupled four-pane window. Asymmetrical rear gable with on the left a four-pane window with shutter, a sealed entrance door, a second four-pane window with shutter; on the right a former door converted to a window with nine-pane fanlight. The western side gable has on the left a cross window as in the front gable and on the far right a half cross window as in the east gable.
