Inleiding
In 1906 rechts naast de voormalige Hervormde pastorie uit 1863 (nu woonhuis, apart monumentnummer 10515) opgetrokken pand, dat is gebouwd als zondagsschool annex consistoriekamer, vergaderzaal, catechisatielokaal en verenigingsgebouw van de Hervormde Kerk. Het pand ligt binnen het beschermde gezicht Giethoorn. Het behield de oorspronkelijke functies tot 1989, waarna het een bestemming kreeg als woonhuis/atelier.
Omschrijving
Het haaks op de pastorie staande, verdiepingloze pand is opgetrokken vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het heeft een gepleisterde plint en een uitkragend, met riet gedekt zadeldak met windveren. De voorgevel is symmetrisch met vlechtingen, een brede entreepartij met dubbele deur onder bovenlicht met in 1990 toegevoegde gietijzeren levensboom en een omlijsting met gecanneleerde pilasters, gietijzeren rozetten en een kroonlijst. Aan weerszijden hiervan een venster onder strek en onder de vensters een gevelsteen met namen en stichtingsjaar (1906). De rechter zijgevel is eveneens voorzien van twee zesruits schuiframen en staafankers. In de achtergevel bevindt zich een venster op de zolderverdieping. De linker zijgevel telt twee zesruits schuiframen en een deur. Het interieur is totaal gewijzigd.
Waardering
De zeldzaamheid van het type en de sobere, maar evenwichtige vorm van het pand en de architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur geven het pand cultuur-, architectuurhistorische en zeldzaamheidswaarde. In relatie met de naastgelegen pastorie vormt het een beeldbepalend ensemble.

Introduction
In 1906 a building erected immediately to the right of the former Reformed rectory of 1863 (now a dwelling, separate monument number 10515), which was built as a Sunday school annex vestry, meeting hall, catechism classroom and meeting house of the Reformed Church. The building lies within the protected townscape of Giethoorn. It retained its original functions until 1989, after which it was converted to a dwelling/studio.
Description
The building standing at right angles to the rectory is a single-storey structure erected from a rectangular floor plan. It has a rendered plinth and a projecting, reed-thatched gabled roof with wind ridges. The front facade is symmetrical with chequerwork patterns, a broad entrance section with double door beneath fanlight with a cast-iron tree of life added in 1990 and a surround with fluted pilasters, cast-iron rosettes and a cornice. On either side thereof a window beneath a lintel and below the windows a wall stone with names and foundation year (1906). The right side facade is likewise furnished with two six-light sash windows and rod anchors. In the rear facade is a window on the attic storey. The left side facade has two six-light sash windows and a door. The interior has been completely altered.
Valuation
The rarity of the type and the sober but balanced form of the building and the architectural integrity of the exterior give the building cultural, architectural-historical and rarity value. In relation to the adjoining rectory it forms a character-defining ensemble.
