Inleiding
Pastorie gebouwd in 1868 naar ontwerp van de groninger stadsbouwmeester J.G. van Beusekom en gelegen in de nabijheid van de eveneens beschermde NH-kerk. Beiden vallen binnen het beschermd gezicht Dwingeloo. Het aangebouwde koetshuis werd, met verwijzing naar de oorspronkelijke bouwvorm, bij een restauratie uit 1975 (Architektenburo P. de Groot; Meppel) geheel opnieuw opgetrokken en valt dientengevolge buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebaseerde pastorie van twee bouwlagen en een schilddak belegd met zwarte hollandse pannen; twee nokhoekschoorstenen met platte kap. De opbouw wordt bepaald door een gepleisterde plint, gepleisterde gevels met spaarvelden voor de vensters en een eenvoudig geprofileerde goot op klossen. De symmetrische voorgevel heeft centraal een gele bakstenen stoep met hardstenen treden naar de paneeldeur; de deur is voorzien van een kalf met snijwerk waarboven een bovenlicht met ronde hoeken en een levensboom; tesamen binnen een sobere omlijsting. Aan weerskanten en op de verdieping ruimte zesruits schuiframen met hardstenen onderdorpel en ronde bovenhoeken voorzien van een sobere omlijsting. De zuidgevel is geheel blind. De oostgevel (achtergevel) is asymmetrisch. Centraal een deur (hardstenen stoep en neuten) met rechtgesloten bovenlicht met oorspronkelijke roedeverdeling (waarin gekleurd galzen medaillons). Boven de deur een tijdens de restauratie van 1975 toegevoegd balkon waarschijnlijk afkomstig uit Emmen; deur met vierruits venster en tweeruits bovenlicht. Rechts van deze as twee boven elkaar geplaatste wc-vensters. De buitenste twee assen hebben twee rechtgesloten zesruits vensters.
INTERIEUR: van belang is de oorspronkelijke hoofdindeling met een centrale gang voorzien van geglazuurde tegels (zeskant met rand en plint), de paneeldeuren met geprofileerde omlijstingen en de stucwerken plafonds. Trappenhuis met steektrappen en bordes naar de verdieping waar de gang eveneens is voorzien van paneeldeuren en geprofileerde omlijstingen. De woonkamer heeft een zwart marmeren schouw, stucwerken plafond en vensterbanken met zitjes en luiken alsmede een kastenwand met paneelschuifdeuren (binnen een zware omlijsting) naar de achterkamer.

Description
Parsonage based on a rectangular ground plan with two storeys and a hipped roof covered with black Dutch tiles; two hip corner chimneys with flat tops. The construction is characterised by a plastered plinth, plastered facades with panels left around the windows and a simply profiled gutter on brackets. The symmetrical front facade has centrally a yellow brick porch with stone steps to the panel door; the door is provided with a calf with carved work above which a fanlight with rounded corners and a tree of life; together within a restrained frame. On either side and on the upper storey room six-light sash windows with stone sills and rounded upper corners provided with a restrained frame. The south facade is entirely blank. The east facade (rear facade) is asymmetrical. Centrally a door (stone porch and plinth) with straight-headed fanlight with original glazing bar pattern (containing coloured glass medallions). Above the door a balcony added during the 1975 restoration probably from Emmen; door with four-light window and two-light fanlight. To the right of this axis two vertically placed lavatory windows. The outer two axes have two straight-headed six-light windows.
INTERIOR: of importance is the original main layout with a central corridor provided with glazed tiles (hexagonal with border and skirting), the panel doors with profiled frames and the stucco ceilings. Stairwell with straight flights and landing to the upper storey where the corridor is also provided with panel doors and profiled frames. The living room has a black marble fireplace, stucco ceiling and window sills with seats and shutters as well as a cabinet wall with panel sliding doors (within a heavy frame) to the rear room.
