Inleiding
In een traditionalistische stijl met elementen van Eclecticisme naar een ontwerp van architect Henri Reek uit Maastricht in 1918 resp. 1919 in opdracht van dhr. P.G. Zuyderhoudt gebouwde DIENSTWONING en KOETSHUIS. Dienstwoning en koetshuis zijn in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van kasteel Geulzicht gesitueerd tegen de helling van de Geulhemmerberg.
Dienstwoning en koetshuis zijn haaks ten opzichte van elkaar gebouwd.
De bijbouwen zijn uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving:
Dienstwoning en koetshuis hebben een resp. in lengterichting en dwarsrichting geplaatste rechthoekige plattegrond, tellen een bouwlaag en zijn beiden gedekt met een zadeldak met tuiles du Nord. In de frontgevel twee trapgevelachtige dakkapellen.
Symmetrische indeling frontgevel. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is mergel, natuursteen en hardsteen. Plint in natuursteen, optrek in mergel. Dorpelstenen in hardsteen. Rechthoekige houten vensters met bovenlichten, rechthoekige houten deuren deels met rondboogvormige bovenlichten. In middendeel frontgevel deuren in rondboogvormige omlijsting met decoratieve sluitstenen. Zijgevels uitlopend in trapgevels.
Indeling interieur ingrijpend gewijzigd en niet beschermenswaard.
Aan de straatzijde enkele kolommen in mergel met hiertussen een smeedijzeren hekwerk.
Waardering:
De voormalige dienstwoning en het koetshuis van kasteel Geulzicht zijn van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en typologische ontwikkeling. Dienstwoning en koetshuis bezitten architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege het belang voor de bovenregionale geschiedenis van de architectuur, wegens de toepassing van mergel als bouwmateriaal en de ornamentiek.
Ensemblewaarde ontlenen dienstwoning en koetshuis aan de situering in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van kasteel Geulzicht. De beide objecten zijn daarmee van bijzondere betekenis voor het aanzien van dit deel van Valkenburg aan de Geul. A SERVICE HOUSE and COACH HOUSE built in a traditionalist style with elements of Eclecticism to a design by architect Henri Reek from Maastricht in 1918 respectively 1919 on behalf of Mr. P.G. Zuyderhoudt. The service house and coach house are situated in the immediate vicinity of castle Geulzicht against the slope of the Geulhemmerberg.

Description:
The service house and coach house have rectangular plans placed respectively in the longitudinal and transverse directions, comprise one storey and are both covered with a gabled roof with Burgundy tiles. In the front facade two stepped gable-like roof dormers.
Symmetrical arrangement of front facade. The building material used is marl, natural stone and hardstone. Plinth in natural stone, wall face in marl. Threshold stones in hardstone.
