Inleiding
R.K. KERK en SACRISTIE van de H. Servatius, 1929, gebouwd in een door het expressionisme en de neo-gotiek beïnvloede stijl naar een ontwerp van architect Nic. Ramakers uit Sittard. De kerk is vrijstaand gesitueerd op een kerkheuvel.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand kerkgebouw op een kruisvormige plattegrond, gedekt door zadeldaken. De zadeldaken van het voorportaal en de kruisarmen hebben een lagere noklijn dan het zadeldak van het schip. De zijbeuken worden gedekt door drie dwars ingestoken zadeldaken. Leien in Maasdekking. De vierkante klokkentoren is rechts naast het voorportaal geplaatst, voorzien van smalle staande galmgaten, kleine driehoekige dakkapellen en een torenspits met windhaan. Rechthoekige absis met kapellenkrans. Aan de linkerzijde van de absis de sacristie van een bouwlaag onder plat.
Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is eerste soort hardgebakken baanringovensteen, metselwerk in kettingverband. Terugliggende voegen.
Plint in een donkerder tint baksteen. Dorpels, neuten en traptreden van Belgisch graniet; traceringen en kanten vensterramen, sluitstenen, kruisen en wijzerplaten van mergel; priesterkoor van gepolijst graniet. Smeedijzeren hang- en sluitwerk.
De kruisarmen en de zijbeuken zijn voorzien van keperboogvormige glas-in-lood vensters met mergeltraceringen alsmede van kleine driehoekige glas-in-lood vensters. Rechthoekige houten deuren onder betonluifels. Toegangstrappen.
Het perceel wordt deels omgeven door een bakstenen muur met hierop een smeedijzeren hekwerk.
Klokkenstoel met klok van onbekende gieter, diam. 90 cm.
In het INTERIEUR zijn onder meer van belang de wit gepleisterde gewelven met filibertspanten; de authentieke houten kerkbanken en twee biechtstoelen; de gebrandschilderde ramen van glazenier Tielens in absis, kruisarmen, middenschip en achter het orgel; op de balustrade van het oxaal een muurschildering uit 1933 van Tielens met voorstelling van de H.Servatius in het Limburgse land; priesterkoor met altaar; doopvont in hardsteen met vierzijdige ingezwenkte voet met afgeronde hoeken, balusterstam en ronde kuip met insnoering en geslagen geelkoperen deksel: XIX A; vijf kerkbanken in eikehout met liervormige wangen met rozetten en kleine voluut met kwasten, XIX A. Orgel en orgelkas zijn niet van waarde uit het oogpunt van monumentenzorg.

De H. Servatiuskerk van Vaesrade is van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een geestelijke ontwikkeling. Het kerkgebouw bezit architectuurhistorische waarden wegens het bijzondere belang voor de regionale architectuurgeschiedenis, is van belang voor het oeuvre van architect N. Detached church building on a cruciform plan, covered by gabled roofs. The gabled roofs of the entrance porch and the transept arms have a lower ridge line than the gabled roof of the nave. The side aisles are covered by three transversely inserted gabled roofs. Slate in Maas covering. The square bell tower is placed to the right of the entrance porch, provided with narrow standing louvers, small triangular roof dormers and a spire with weathervane. Rectangular apse with chapels arranged around. On the left side of the apse the sacristy of one storey under flat roof.
The building materials used are first-class hard-fired ring-kiln brick, brickwork in chain bond. Recessed joints.
Plinth in a darker shade of brick. Sills, nosings and steps of Belgian granite; mouldings and window frames of marl; priest's choir of polished granite. Wrought-iron hinges and locks.
The transept arms and the side aisles are provided with basket-arch-shaped leaded light windows with marl mouldings as well as small triangular leaded light windows. Rectangular wooden doors under concrete canopies. Access stairs.
The site is partly surrounded by a brick wall with wrought-iron railings on top.
Bell frame with bell of unknown founder, diam. 90 cm.
In the INTERIOR the following are of importance: the white plastered vaults with filibertbraces; the authentic wooden church pews and two confessionals; the stained-glass windows by glazier Tielens in the apse, transept arms, central nave and behind the organ; on the balustrade of the gallery a wall painting from 1933 by Tielens depicting St. Servatius in Limburgish land; priest's choir with altar; baptismal font in sandstone with four-sided undulating foot with rounded corners, baluster stem and round basin with constriction and cast yellow-copper lid: first half of the 19th century; five church pews in oak wood with lyre-shaped panels with rosettes and small volute with tassels, first half of the 19th century. Organ and organ case are not of value from the point of view of heritage conservation.
