Inleiding
HERENHUIS, ca. 1910, in een door de chaletstijl beïnvloede traditionele bouwtrant. Het herenhuis is vrijstaand gesitueerd. De in 1968 aan de linkerzijgevel aangebouwde praktijkruimte en de L-vormige aanbouw aan de achtergevel zijn uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving
De hoofdmassa van het herenhuis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, telt twee bouwlagen en een zolderverdieping en wordt afgedekt met een afgeplat schilddak met tuiles du nord. Twee dakkapellen.
Symmetrisch ingedeelde frontgevel. Middenrisaliet met entree wordt bekroond door een topgeveltje met insteekkap dwarsrichting en een houten overstek. Entree met authentieke dubbele houten paneeldeur en een twaalfruits bovenlicht. Vier traptreden. Het venster in tweede bouwlaag van het middenrisaliet is rondboogvormig en heeft een kruisvormige tracering in baksteen en hardsteen. Het topgevelvenster is eveneens rondboogvormig en voorzien van een zesruits roedeverdeling.
Het rechterdeel van de rechterzijgevel en het linkerdeel van de linkerzijgevel lopen uit in een topgevel.
Tegen de middenas van de achtergevel een uitbouw in twee bouwlagen onder een plat dak. Deze middenas loopt eveneens uit in een kleine topgevel.
In het linkerdeel van achtergevel is in de eerste bouwlaag een venster en deur van recentere datum geplaatst.
Rechthoekige houten en kunststof T-vensters met achtruits bovenlichten, hardstenen dorpelstenen en lateien en deels voorzien van segmentboogvormige strek.
Waardering
Het herenhuis bezit architectuurhistorische waarden wegens de algemene importantie voor de regionale architectuurgeschiedenis, vanwege de bouwstijl, de esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp en de ornamentiek. Ensemblewaarde ontleent het herenhuis aan de dominante situering aan de Hoofdstraat en is daarmee van groot belang voor het aanzien van Schimmert. The main mass of the mansion has a rectangular ground plan, comprises two storeys and an attic storey and is covered with a flattened hipped roof with Tuiles du Nord. Two roof dormers.
Symmetrically arranged front gable. Central risalit with entrance is crowned by a small gable with a horizontal set-back hip and wooden overhang. Entrance with authentic double wooden panelled door and a twelve-pane fanlight. Four steps. The window in the second storey of the central risalit is round-arched and has cross-shaped tracery in brick and hard stone. The gable window is likewise round-arched and fitted with a six-pane glazing bars.
The right section of the right side gable and the left section of the left side gable end in a gable.
Against the central axis of the rear gable an extension in two storeys under a flat roof. This central axis likewise ends in a small gable.
