MAUSOLEUM.
Op verzoek van Wilhelm II werd na zijn dood in 1941, in 1941 een mausoleum ten noorden van het Huis Doorn gebouwd waarin zijn lichaam werd bijgezet. Het zachtrood bakstenen mausoleum op rechthoekige grondslag op natuurstenen plint, heeft een onder grijze pannen gedekt, licht inzalend samengesteld tent- en zadeldak en werd ontworpen door de Berlijnse architect dr E. Kiessling. De voorgevel (zuid) is voorzien van een smallere aedicula met aan de linker- en rechterzijde drie strakke natuurstenen pilasters. In de gevel, die geheel opgetrokken is uit zachtgele natuursteen, bevindt zich de toegang, bestaande uit een dubbele paneeldeur. In de topgevel een gevelsteen in de vorm van een schilddragende hond. De zijwanden van het portaal zijn eveneens van pilasters voorzien. In de linker- en rechterzijgevel twee rondboogvensters met natuurstenen onderdorpels, voorzien van diefijzers en okergeel glas-in-lood. De achtergevel is blind. Het dak wordt bekroond door een pijnappel waarop een kruisje.

Description
MAUSOLEUM.
At the request of Wilhelm II, after his death in 1941, in 1941 a mausoleum was built north of the Huis Doorn in which his body was interred. The soft red brick mausoleum on a rectangular base on a natural stone plinth, has a gently sloping roof composed of tent and gabled forms covered with grey tiles and was designed by the Berlin architect dr E. Kiessling. The front facade (south) is provided with a narrower aedicula with three austere natural stone pilasters on the left and right sides. In the facade, which is entirely constructed of soft yellow natural stone, is the entrance, consisting of a double panelled door. In the gable a gable stone in the form of a shield-bearing dog. The side walls of the portal are likewise provided with pilasters. In the left and right side facade two round-arched windows with natural stone sills, fitted with anti-theft bars and ochre-yellow stained glass. The rear facade is blind. The roof is crowned by a pinecone topped with a small cross.
