The register's description

POORTGEBOUW.

GATEHOUSE.

Gatehouse built in 1921 in a neo-style, inspired by the Dutch Renaissance style, designed by the Amersfoort architect H.A. Pothoven. The current gatehouse, irregular in ground plan and structure, replaces the gardener's dwelling 'Vendetta', after a new main entrance to the park was established in 1920 at the Langbroekerweg. In the red brick, cellared gatehouse two dwelling houses and two offices are housed.

The gatehouse is provided with a central risalit which is provided on both sides with tall stepped gables under a gate passage. This passage is provided on the street side with double wooden doors. The passage under the arch is provided with a round arch on both sides and has a net vault on the inside. In the passage under the arch there are three access doors and a bench in a spandrel.

The west side of the building has a symmetrical window and door arrangement; to the left and right of the risalit a Flemish gable in which a porch in which the entrance to the dwelling houses and to the right, respectively left thereof, a stair to the cellar. The north and south gables have an identical window arrangement. In the east gable the central risalit is set back relative to the rest of the gable, the gables on either side curve quarter-round towards the risalit.

On the northeast and the southeast corner of the east gable a tower with a round ground plan, which on the upper floor takes on an octagonal ground plan, under an octagonal pointed slate tent roof. Both corner towers and east gable are provided with a regular and symmetrical window arrangement.

On the composite hipped and gabled roof stand brick chimneys topped with zinc caps and there are a number of roof dormers, some crowned by a wrought iron finial. The windows of the gatehouse are partly provided with shutters.

The INTERIOR has undergone hardly any changes since the construction of the building.
