Aan de westzijde van het Noordeinde gelegen WOONHUIS, in eclectische trant gebouwd in 1878 als onderwijzerswoning.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebouwd en ten dele onderkelderd woonhuis met lijstgevel. Het woonhuis bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder schilddak met zwarte Hollandse pan en met de noklijn evenwijdig aan de weg. De beide nokpunten hebben een gemetselde schoorsteen met schoorsteenkap. Het muurwerk is opgetrokken in rode baksteen.
De voorgevel (O) is symmetrisch van opzet, telt vijf vensterassen, heeft een plint in hardsteen en een houten fries met kroonlijst. De voorgevel heeft een geblokte liseen aan weerszijden van de centrale ingang. Deze ingang bestaat uit een beglaasde paneeldeur met siersmeedwerk en door gestileerde levensboom onderverdeeld bovenlicht. Voor de deur ligt een stoep in hardsteen met zijleuningen. Boven de ingang - en hiervan door de genoemde kroonlijst gescheiden - bevindt zich een hoog opgemetselde dakkapel onder flauw hellend zadeldak met gesneden windveren en gootlijsten. Het muurwerk van de dakkapel heeft op de hoeken lisenen met verticale spaarvelden. De dakkapel heeft een stolpvenster met bovenlicht. De flankerende traveeën hebben elk twee schuifvensters met T-ramen. De kozijnen en ramen hebben afgronde bovenhoeken. De bovenlichten hebben ook afgeronde hoeken aan de onderzijde.
De rechterzijgevel (N) en de linkerzijgevel (Z) hebben een smal schuifvenster nabij de voorgevel. De linkerzijgevel heeft nabij de achtergevel een T-venster. De vensters in de zijgevels hebben hoeken die op dezelfde wijze zijn afgerond als bij de vensters in de voorgevel. Rechterzijgevel en linkerzijgevel hebben een gebosseerde liseen op de hoek met de achtergevel. De achtergevel is gepleisterd en voorzien van schijnvoegen. Dwelling house built on a rectangular ground plan and partly cellar-ed with a cornice-topped facade. The dwelling house consists of one storey under a hipped roof with black Dutch tiles and with the ridge line parallel to the road. Both ridge points have a mortared chimney with chimney cap. The brickwork is built in red brick.
The front gable (E) is symmetrical in design, has five window axes, has a plinth in hardstone and a wooden frieze with cornice. The front gable has a rusticated pilaster on either side of the central entrance. This entrance consists of a glazed panel door with ornamental ironwork and a fanlight subdivided by a stylised tree of life. In front of the door is a step in hardstone with side railings. Above the entrance – and separated from it by the aforementioned cornice – is a tall built-up dormer window under a gently sloping gabled roof with carved wind braces and gutter mouldings. The brickwork of the dormer window has pilasters on the corners with vertical spared fields. The dormer window has a stolpvenster with fanlight. The flanking bays each have two sash windows with T-panes. The frames and windows have rounded upper corners. The fanlights also have rounded corners at the lower side.
The right side gable (N) and the left side gable (S) have a narrow sash window near the front gable. The left side gable has a T-window near the rear gable. The windows in the side gables have corners that are rounded in the same way as the windows in the front gable. Right side gable and left side gable have a rusticated pilaster on the corner with the rear gable. The rear gable is plastered and provided with false joints. Right side, left side and rear gable have a wooden gutter moulding on consoles. The windows, door and dormer window in the rear gable are not original.
Valuation
The dwelling house is of general importance from a cultural and architectural history point of view as a well-preserved example of rural architecture from the 19th century.
