Inleiding
TUINHUIS, gesitueerd achter woonhuis Rechtestraat 54, gelegen aan de noordzijde van de straat in de dorpskern van De Rijp. Het tuinhuis is gebouwd tussen 1832 en 1881, waarschijnlijk omstreeks het bouwjaar van het woonhuis: 1866.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekige plattegrond uit horizontale rabatdelen opgetrokken tuinhuis, afgesloten door een met rode oude Hollandse pannen bedekt zadeldak, waarvan de noklijn noord-zuid is gericht. Aan de zuidzijde is het ver overstekende dak voorzien van een ingekeepte decoratieve windveer. De voorgevel (Z) bevat op de begane grond twee vier-ruits vensters met halfrond bovenlicht met straalsgewijze roedenverdeling in geprofileerde kozijnen. In de topgevel bevindt zich een identiek venster. In de linker zijgevel (W) is links van een deur een twintig-ruits schuifvenster geplaatst. Aan de achterzijde (N) bevindt zich een laaddeur in de top. De rechter zijgevel (O) is blind.
Waardering
Het tuinhuis is van algemeen belang uit cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch oogpunt vanwege de zeldzaamheid van het bouwtype en de gaafheid van hoofdvorm en detaillering.

GARDEN HOUSE, situated behind dwelling house Rechtestraat 54, located on the north side of the street in the village centre of De Rijp. The garden house was built between 1832 and 1881, probably around the building date of the dwelling house: 1866.
Description
On a rectangular plan constructed of horizontal rabat boards, garden house, enclosed by a gabled roof covered with red old Dutch tiles, the ridge line of which is directed north-south. On the south side the far-projecting roof is provided with an incised decorative wind vane. The front facade (S) contains on the ground floor two four-pane windows with semicircular fanlight with radiating glazing bars in moulded frames. In the gable top there is an identical window. In the left side facade (W), to the left of a door, a twenty-pane sash window has been placed. At the rear (N) there is a loading door in the top. The right side facade (E) is blank.
Valuation
The garden house is of general importance from a cultural and architectural-historical point of view because of the rarity of the building type and the integrity of the main form and detailing.
