Omschrijving
Het aan de noordzijde van het Bagijnhof gelegen TOEGANGSHEK, gebouwd in jaren '30 van de twintigste eeuw. Het hek is opgetrokken uit baksteen in combinatie met smeedijzeren hekwerken.
Tussen twee bakstenen pijlers, die bovenlangs verbonden worden door een smeedijzeren boog met hierin de tekst "WEESHUIS", is een dubbel openslaand smeedijzeren hek opgehangen. Deze twee pijlers worden geflankeerd door een circa 80 cm. hoog bakstenen muurtje, waarboven een smeedijzeren hek is geplaatst. Deze hekken worden aan de uiteinden afgesloten door bakstenen pijlers. Zowel de pijlers als de muurtjes zijn afgewerkt met een grindbetonnen afdekplaat.
Waardering
Het toegangshek is van algemeen belang uit architectuur- en cultuurhistorisch oogpunt als gaaf bewaard gebleven onderdeel van het reeds beschermde weeshuis.

Description
The ENTRANCE GATE located on the north side of Bagijnhof, built in the 1930s. The gate is constructed of brick in combination with wrought-iron fencing.
Between two brick pillars, which are connected along the top by a wrought-iron arch with the text "WEESHUIS" in it, a double-opening wrought-iron gate is hung. These two pillars are flanked by a brick wall approximately 80 cm high, above which a wrought-iron gate is placed. These gates are closed at the ends by brick pillars. Both the pillars and the walls are finished with a gravel concrete capping plate.
Valuation
The entrance gate is of general importance from an architectural and cultural-historical perspective as a well-preserved component of the already protected orphanage.
