Inleiding
Het WOONHUIS annex notariskantoor is in opdracht van notaris Harterink in 1915 in Interbellum-architectuur gebouwd naar ontwerp van architect H.A. Pothoven uit Amersfoort op "een terrein gelegen aan den straatweg van Augustinusga naar Surhuizum". De villa, thans genaamd De Woudenhof, ligt verhoogd op een deels omgracht ruim eigen erf. Het toegangshek is door de vorige bewoner geplaatst en van elders afkomstig. In de voortuin staan grote coniferen, in de royale achtertuin is een vijver en staan vruchtbomen, waaronder notenbomen. Het vm. koetshuis (later garage) aan de noordzijde van het woonhuis, is bij een latere verbouwing verlengd. Dit bijgebouw wordt van bescherming van Rijkswege uitgesloten wegens ondergeschikt belang. De naam van het pand "de Woudenhof" is door de vorige bewoner aangebracht.
Omschrijving
De Notarisvilla van twee bouwlagen is gebouwd op bijna vierkante grondslag. Het schilddak is gedekt met zwarte verbeterde Hollandse pannen en heeft goten op klossen. Het pand is opgetrokken in roodbruine waalstenen met een trasraam van donkerbruine stenen. Aan de symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel bevinden zich aan weerszijden van de portiek topgevels met bakstenen vlechting en een blind roosvenster onder een zadeldak met strakke windveer; een derde topgevel is aan de achtergevel op de zuid-oosthoek. De inpandige gemetselde portiek heeft een korfboogvormige toegangspoort met natuurstenen sluit- en aanzetstenen.
De vernieuwde deur in de portiek heeft een boven- en zijlicht van glas-in-lood. Aan voorgevel zijn twee driezijdige erkers met glas-in-lood bovenlichten onder streklaag; de luiken voor de onderste ruiten zijn vernieuwd. Boven de erkers zijn opgemetselde balkonbalustrades; de dubbele glazen balkondeuren hebben zijlichten. Aan de zuidgevel is een rechthoekige bakstenen serre met platte dakafsluiting. Aan de Noordzijde is een uitbouw onder ingezwenkt zadeldak met houten beschot. Aan deze zijde is een zij-ingang t.b.v. het vm. notariskantoor. Op de hoek van de nok en hoekkepers zijn twee schoorstenen; in de Noord-, Oost-, en Westschilden bevinden zich dakkapellen. Aan achterzijde is een daklicht t.b.v. een bovenlicht in het portaal op de verdieping. De later verlengde garage is opgetrokken in roodbruine bakstenen en heeft een zadeldak.
Het interieur van de notariswoning is nauwelijks gewijzigd; de oorspronkelijke indeling is gehandhaafd. Zo zijn ondermeer het notariskantoor met de kluis, als ook de dienstbodekamer met bedstee op de zolder nog aanwezig. De aankleding en de details in de woning zijn grotendeels oorspronkelijk, zoals ondermeer de vloertegels in de hal, de keukeninrichting en de betegelde haarden. Voorts o.a. de onderscheiden plafonds in het woongedeelte en bedrijfsgedeelte, resp. de balken-, en stucplafonds, en het glas-in-lood bovenlicht in het portaal op de verdieping.
Waardering
Het woonhuis-kantoor uit 1916 aan de Skoalikkers te Buitenpost is van cultuurhistorisch en architectonisch belang vanwege:

Introduction
The DWELLING HOUSE together with notary's office was built in 1915 on commission of notary Harterink in Interbellum architecture to a design by architect H.A. Pothoven from Amersfoort on "a plot of land situated on the road from Augustinusga to Surhuizum". The villa, now called De Woudenhof, is situated elevated on a partly moated spacious private plot. The entrance gate was placed by the previous owner and comes from elsewhere. Large conifers stand in the front garden; in the spacious rear garden is a pond and fruit trees, including walnut trees. The former coach house (later garage) on the north side of the dwelling house was extended during a later renovation. This outbuilding is excluded from national monument protection on grounds of subordinate importance. The name of the property "de Woudenhof" was given by the previous owner.
Description
The notary's villa of two storeys is built on an almost square ground plan. The hipped roof is covered with black improved Dutch tiles and has gutters on brackets. The building is constructed in reddish-brown wall bricks with a band of dark brown bricks. On the symmetrically arranged front facade on either side of the porch are gables with brick latticework and a blind rose window beneath a gabled roof with tight wind brace; a third gable is on the rear facade on the south-east corner. The internal brick porch has a segmental arch-shaped entrance portal with natural stone coping and springing stones.
The renewed door in the porch has a fanlight and sidelights of leaded glass. On the front facade are two three-sided bay windows with leaded glass fanlights beneath a band course; the shutters for the lower panes are renewed. Above the bay windows are built-in balcony balustrades; the double glazed balcony doors have sidelights. On the south facade is a rectangular brick conservatory with flat roof finish. On the north side is an extension under a deflected gabled roof with wooden boarding. On this side is a side entrance for the former notary's office. On the corner of the ridge and hip rafters are two chimneys; in the north, east and west hipped sections are roof dormers. On the rear is a roof light for a fanlight in the staircase hall on the upper storey. The later extended garage is constructed in reddish-brown bricks and has a gabled roof.
The interior of the notary's residence is scarcely altered; the original layout is maintained. Thus among other things the notary's office with the safe, as well as the servants' room with box bed in the attic are still present. The furnishings and details in the house are largely original, such as among other things the floor tiles in the hall, the kitchen fittings and the tiled fireplaces. Furthermore among others the different ceilings in the residential section and business section, respectively the beam and stucco ceilings, and the leaded glass fanlight in the staircase hall on the upper storey.

The dwelling house-office from 1916 on the Skoalikkers in Buitenpost is of cultural-historical and architectural importance because of:
