Inleiding
Woonhuis met traditionele, verdiepingloze, 4 traveeën brede lijstgevel, gebouwd als hoofdmeesterswoning bij de naastgelegen school. Het schilddak is gedekt met gesmoorde kruispannen. Het vermoedelijk 19e eeuwse pand is aan het begin van de 20ste eeuw verbouwd.
Omschrijving
De gevel is opgetrokken uit rode machinale baksteen in kruisverband en voorzien van gietijzeren rozetankers.
De lijst wordt gevormd door een sober geprofileerde gootlijst en een fries van wit geverfde baksteen met profiellijstje. Plint, plintlijst en raamdorpelstenen van donkere, gesmoorde baksteen.
In de voorgevel bevinden zich houten kozijnen met licht getoogde bovendorpels met 2x2 ruits schuiframen met bovenramen zonder roedeverdeling; entree met bovenlicht en sobere strokendeur. De achtergevel is voorzien van een houten drielichtkozijn en een dakkapel; aanbouwtje met zadeldak. Het interieur is vrij sober met ondermeer in de voorkamer een origineel schouwtje en originele houten deuren.
Het schilddak, met de nok evenwijdig aan de straat, is gedekt met gesmoorde kruispannen.
Waardering
De eenvoudige, gave meesterswoning bezit ensemblewaarde voor het dorpsbeeld in het algemeen en de historisch en architectonisch waardevolle gevelwand van de Kerkstraat-zuidzijde in het bijzonder; als gave meesterswoning bij de naastgelegen school van cultuurhistorische en zeldzaamheidswaarde voor Zeeland.

Dwelling with traditional, single-storey, 4-bay cornice-topped facade, built as head master's house next to the adjacent school. The hipped roof is covered with smoked cross tiles. The presumably 19th-century building was renovated at the beginning of the 20th century.

The facade is built of red machine-made brick in Flemish bond and provided with cast-iron ornamental wall anchors.
The cornice is formed by a simple profiled gutter line and a frieze of white-painted brick with profile moulding. Plinth, plinth moulding and window sill stones of dark, smoked brick.
In the front facade there are wooden frames with slightly arched upper mullions with 2x2 pane sash windows with upper windows without glazing bars; entrance with fanlight and simple horizontal-boarded door. The rear facade is provided with a wooden tripartite frame and a dormer; small extension with gabled roof. The interior is fairly simple with, among other things, an original small fireplace in the front room and original wooden doors.
The hipped roof, with the ridge parallel to the street, is covered with smoked cross tiles.
Valuation
The simple, intact master's house possesses ensemble value for the village image in general and the historically and architecturally valuable facade wall of the south side of Kerkstraat in particular; as an intact master's house next to the adjacent school of cultural-historical and rarity value for Zeeland.
