Inleiding
Aan uitvalsweg ten oosten van Scherpenisse gelegen watertoren, gebouwd in 1922/'23 voor de NV Waterleidingmaatschappij Tholen naar ontwerp van NV Mobeg te Utrecht. Als aannemer wordt genoemd Z.N. Beton Mij. te 's-Hertogenbosch. Invloed van het classicisme.
Omschrijving
De geheel betonnen toren van 50 meter hoogte, staat op een achthoekige plattegrond en heeft een eveneens achthoekige, naar boven taps toelopende schacht met daarop een uitkragend rond gedeelte, waarin zich het waterreservoir van 350 m3 bevindt.
De achthoekige vorm van de toren wordt bepaald door de constructie die bestaat uit acht gewapend betonnen kolommen, waartussen verdiept liggende vlakvullingen.
De zo ontstane muurvlakken zijn drie maal horizontaal geleed door eenvoudige banden. De overgang van sokkel naar schacht is uitgevoerd als geprofileerde lijst.
In enkele muurvlakken bevinden zich rechthoekige vensters met betonnen kozijnen en roedeverdeling. Boven de ingang bevindt zich een inscriptie met de jaartallen 1911 en 1923. De entree met houten deur is voorzien van een klassieke omlijsting met segmentvormig fronton. Deze omlijsting wordt herhaald als raamomlijsting om en om in de traveeën rondom de toren op de begane grond.
De uitkragende, ronde reservoirommanteling wordt aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door een brede, overkragende lijst. Hierboven bevindt zich het tuitvormig dak, voorzien van dakkapellen die dezelfde klassieke omlijsting met segmentvormig fronton hebben als de hoofdentree en de raamomlijstingen.

Description
The entirely concrete tower of 50 metres in height stands on an octagonal ground plan and has an equally octagonal shaft tapering towards the top, on which there is a projecting round section, in which the water reservoir of 350 m³ is located.
