Omschrijving
GEDENKTEKEN in de vorm van een obelisk op piedestal, geplaatst langs de oprijlaan aan de oostzijde van het gebouw. Deze hardstenen obelisk werd in 1835 in Amsterdam vervaardigd door Chs Sigauili & Zoon en is aan drie zijden van decoraties voorzien.
Voorzijde: een vlinder met daaromheen een slang die zichzelf in de staart bijt, symbool van wedergeboorte en eeuwigheid. Daaronder de namen M.P. Brants en A.P. Hartsen.
Dit zijn Mattheus Pieter Brants (1779-1829) en Agatha Petronella Hartsen (1784-1835), de ouders van Anna Maria Brants die in 1900 samen het haar man, Barthold van Verschuer, de Van Verschuer-Brants Stichting oprichtte; Linkerzijde het wapen van de familie Hartsen: een medaillon met drie zwijnenkoppen, aan een lint met strik opgehangen. Rechterzijde het wapen van de familie Bartsen: een wapenschild, met een zwemmende dolfijn en een brandend hart daarboven, bekroond door een hemelteken. Tussen de vleugels op de helm nogmaals een brandend hart.

MEMORIAL in the form of an obelisk on a pedestal, placed along the drive on the east side of the building. This stone obelisk was made in Amsterdam in 1835 by Chs Sigauili & Zoon and is provided with decorations on three sides.
Front: a butterfly with a snake wrapped around it biting its own tail, symbol of rebirth and eternity. Below it the names M.P. Brants and A.P. Hartsen.
These are Mattheus Pieter Brants (1779-1829) and Agatha Petronella Hartsen (1784-1835), the parents of Anna Maria Brants who in 1900 together with her husband, Barthold van Verschuer, founded the Van Verschuer-Brants Foundation; Left side the coat of arms of the Hartsen family: a medallion with three boar heads, suspended from a ribbon with bow. Right side the coat of arms of the Bartsen family: a heraldic shield, with a swimming dolphin and a flaming heart above it, crowned by a celestial sign. Between the wings on the helm once again a flaming heart.
