Inleiding
Voormalige DOUANEPOST. Klein wachtgebouwtje bij de rijksgrens aan de Akenerstraat, XIX B, tegen de voorgevel van het laatste pand in de straatwand, in traditioneel-ambachtelijke stijl. De aanpalende oude grenssteen met Duitse rijksadelaar geniet reeds rijksbescherming.
Omschrijving
De douanepost heeft een bouwlaag op een rechthoekige plattegrond, gesitueerd in dwarsrichting. Gedekt door een tussen kopgevels verzonken zadeldak met zinken bedekking. Bakstenen optrek, gemetseld in kruisverband, met gecementeerde plint en hardstenen dorpels.
Symmetrisch geveltje met centraal geplaatste, rechthoekige houten toegangsdeur, geflankeerd door twee smalle houten vensters, uitlopend in kopgevel met hardstenen afdekking, schouderstukken op consoles en risalerende bekroning. Smalle, rechthoekige houten zijgevelvensters. Rollagen.
