Inleiding
In een Traditioneel-ambachtelijke stijl in 1880 gebouwde DIRECTEURSWONING van nabij gelegen brouwerij, distilleerderij en azijnfabriek. Het object is midden in de kern Gulpen, langs de Rijksweg gesitueerd. De aan- en bijbouwen zijn uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving
De halfvrijstaande voormalige directeurswoning heeft een in de lengterichting geplaatste rechthoekige plattegrond, telt drie bouwlagen en wordt afgedekt met een zadeldak met pannen. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is baksteen en natuursteen. Symmetrische gevelindeling. De frontgevel is vrij sober uitgevoerd. Hardstenen plint. Houten segmentboogvormige T-vensters. Houten segmentboogvormige deuren. Segmentboogvormige poortopening. Vensters en deuren hebben in de eerste bouwlaag decoratieve omlijstingen in hardsteen met hardstenen sluitstenen, en in de tweede en derde bouwlaag omlijstingen en sluitstenen in mergel. De raamdorpels zijn uitgevoerd in natuursteen. Het geveldeel met de poortopening is geaccentueerd d.m.v. twee verticale mergelbanden in pilastervorm. De eerste en tweede bouwlaag worden gescheiden door een horizontale band in mergel. Onder de dakrand is een decoratieve band in mergel aangebracht in de vorm van mergel consoles. Drie Neo-Classicistische dakkapellen.
Waardering
De voormalige directeurswoning van de brouwerij met distilleerderij en azijnfabriek is van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaaleconomische en typologische ontwikkeling. Het object bezit architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege streekgebonden architectuur, wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. Ensemblewaarde ontleent dit object aan zijn situering midden in de kern Gulpen. Het object is daarmee van bijzondere betekenis voor het aanzien van deze kern. Het object is tenslotte van algemeen belang wegens de redelijke mate van architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur, de architectuurhistorische en functionele zeldzaamheid.

Description
The semi-detached former director's residence has a rectangular plan placed lengthwise, comprises three storeys and is covered with a gabled roof with tiles. The building materials used are brick and natural stone. Symmetrical facade layout. The front facade is executed in a fairly austere manner. Hardstone plinth. Wooden segment arch-shaped T-windows. Wooden segment arch-shaped doors. Segment arch-shaped gateway opening. Windows and doors have decorative stone surrounds with hardstone voussoirs in the first storey, and surrounds and voussoirs in marl in the second and third storeys. The window sills are executed in natural stone. The facade section with the gateway opening is accentuated by means of two vertical marl bands in pilaster form. The first and second storeys are separated by a horizontal band in marl. Below the eaves a decorative band in marl has been applied in the form of marl corbels. Three Neo-Classical roof dormers.
