Inleiding WOONHUIS, gesitueerd in de Hortusbuurt in de gesloten, westelijke gevelwand van de Nieuwe Kijk in 't Jatstraat, verbouwd in 1887 in een eclectische bouwstijl. Het gebouw is thans nog als woonhuis in gebruik. Omschrijving Het gebouw is opgetrokken op een vierkante plattegrond en telt één bouwlaag onder een dwarsgeplaatst zadeldak, belegd met een blauw geglazuurde Hollandse pan. De voorgevel is drie traveeën breed. De lijstgevel is geheel gepleisterd en voorzien van schijnvoegen. Voor de toegangsdeur ligt een hardstenen stoep. De rechtgesloten gevelopeningen zijn voorzien van geprofileerd lijstwerk en kuiven in stuc. De bovenlichten van de paneeldeur en de twee vensters zijn ingevuld met kleurig glas-in-lood. De vensterbanken zijn op de hoeken versierd met consoles in stuc. De gevel wordt afgesloten door een kroonlijst, die voorzien is van twee gebeeldhouwde consoles, die een geprofileerde houten bakgoot dragen. Tegen het dwarsgeplaatste zadeldak is een uitzonderlijk grote kajuit geplaatst met een origineel zes-ruits venster. Dit venster is eveneens voorzien van geprofileerd lijstwerk en een kuif in stuc. Introduction DWELLING HOUSE, situated in the Hortusbuurt in the closed, western facade of the Nieuwe Kijk in 't Jatstraat, altered in 1887 in an eclectic architectural style.
