Inleiding
BOERDERIJ met STAART (BIJSCHUUR) gebouwd in traditionele en ambachtelijke stijl, van oorsprong midden 18e-eeuws maar op karakteristieke wijze aangepast rond 1890. Typologisch behorend tot het hallehuistype met achterbaander. In 1978 gerestaureerd tot woonhuis in opdracht van en door J. de Vries (detailleringen deels zwak).
Omschrijving
Boerderij in baksteen opgetrokken met constructie van ankerbalkgebinten en gedekt door een afgewolfd rietdak met steil voorschild; uilebord en schoorsteen. Achtergevel met getoogde inrijdeur uit ongeveer 1890 ter vervanging van de oorspronkelijke diepliggende achterbaander; aan weerszijden gietijzeren rondboogvenster; staldeur en halfrond dietijzeren stalraam. Zijgevels met stalramen en mestdeuren van diverse afmetingen. Woonhuis met 6-ruits schuifvensters in zijgevels en opgeklampte houten deuren met 3-ruits bovenlicht. De markante kopse gevel bevat diverse oudere bouwsporen; vlechting; twee 15-ruits schuiframen; opgeklampte deur; kelderraam met diefijzers en een opvallende onderbouwing van het steile voorschild met een houten stijl in het metselwerk en brede uitkraagplaat die op de noordoosthoek verhoogd worden met een korte stijl ten behoeve van de rond 1890 aangepaste en hogere noordgevel (muurplaat met pen-en-gat verbinding aan de korte stijl verbonden).
De aangebouwde staart is in hout opgetrokken, ankerbalkgebinten met pen-en-gat verbindingen, de wanden zijn van gepotdekselde delen en deels met stro bekleed. Het geheel wordt gedekt door een gedeeltelijk aan een zijde doorgetrokken en afgewolfd zadeldak; hooiluik.

Typologically belonging to the hall-house type with rear entrance. Restored in 1978 to residential dwelling on behalf of and by J. de Vries (detailing partly weak).
Description
Farmhouse built in brick with anchor-beam frame construction and covered by a hipped and curved thatched roof with steep front slope; owl board and chimney. Rear gable with arched carriage entrance from approximately 1890 replacing the original deep-set rear entrance; on either side cast-iron semicircular window; stable door and semicircular cast-iron stable frame. Side gables with stable frames and manure doors of various sizes. Dwelling with 6-pane sash windows in side gables and clamped wooden doors with 3-pane fanlights. The distinctive end gable contains various older building traces; wattling; two 15-pane sash windows; clamped door; cellar window with iron grilles and a striking substructure of the steep front slope with a wooden post in the masonry and broad corbelled plate which on the northeast corner is heightened with a short post for the around 1890 adapted and higher north gable (wall plate with mortise-and-tenon connection attached to the short post).
The attached lean-to is built in wood, anchor-beam frames with mortise-and-tenon connections, the walls are of topped clay tile and partly clad with straw. The whole is covered by a partly on one side extended and curved gabled roof; hay loft door.
Valuation
Farmhouse of cultural-historical significance because of the growth and formation history of a representative Drenthe peasant dwelling; of architectural-historical significance because of the craftsman and careful design and the recognisability in relation to the outbuildings and the visual integrity of the village setting; of urban design significance because of its location in the village centre and as an important component of the original settlement structure.
