Inleiding
Blok van twee WONINGEN gebouwd in 1889 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie voor de bakkersbaas/opzichter en de onderdirecteur van de landbouw. Ontwerp, woningtype IV en V, is afkomstig van W.C. Metzelaar. De naam 'Vooruit' is symmetrisch geplaatst in de voorgevel.
Omschrijving
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen dubbel woonhuis gebouwd in sobere en functionele stijl. Uit baksteen opgetrokken en gedekt door een aan een zijde doorgetrokken zadeldak met pannen; windveren; eenvoudig geprofileerde goot. De zuidelijke zijgevel en de noordelijke hoeken zijn voorzien van blokbepleistering; staafankers. De gevels zijn symmetrisch ingedeeld door licht getoogde vensters met luiken, hardstenen vensterbanken en oorspronkelijk 12-ruits schuiframen en paarsgewijs geplaatste 4-ruits steekramen. Nummer 50 is gebouwd volgens woningtype V: aanbouw met zadeldak; opgeklampte deur met licht getoogd 2-ruits bovenlicht en 6-ruits schuifraam. Nummer 52 volgens woningtype IV: portaal onder lessenaardak; opgeklampte deur met lichtgetoogd 2-ruits bovenlicht en 6-ruits schuifraam.

Double dwelling situated parallel to the road built in sober and functional style. Constructed of brick and covered by a gabled roof with tiles continuous on one side; roof ridges; simply profiled gutter. The southern side facade and the northern corners are provided with rendered blockwork; rod anchors. The facades are symmetrically arranged by slightly arched windows with shutters, hardstone window sills and originally 12-paned sash windows and paired 4-paned stud windows. Number 50 is built according to housing type V: extension with gabled roof; clamped door with slightly arched 2-paned fanlight and 6-paned sash window. Number 52 according to housing type IV: porch beneath a catslide roof; clamped door with slightly arched 2-paned fanlight and 6-paned sash window.
