Inleiding
Gebouwd rond 1890 als Openbare Lagere SCHOOL in ambachtelijk-decoratieve baksteen-architectuur. Inmiddels is de school in gebruik als school voor praktische vorming. Van bescherming uitgesloten is de na-oorlogse uitbreiding aan de achterzijde.
Omschrijving
School op rechthoekige grondslag gebaseerd en opgetrokken in baksteen en gedekt door een afgeknot schilddak belegd met geglazuurde golfpannen; geprofileerde gootlijst op gemetselde klossen. Gevelopbouw met gepleisterde plint; gemetselde (hoek)pilasters met spaarvelden; waterlijst ter hoogte van de natuurstenen vensterbanken; vensters met decoratief gemetselde en deels gepleisterde ontlastingsboog met siermetselwerk in boogveld. Symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel met diepliggend portaal; dubbele paneeldeur met naald; bovendorpel met snijwerk; dubbel bovenlicht waarvan de onderste met gietijzeren sierrooster. Aan weerszijden drie grote 12-ruits lokaalramen met naar binnen vallend bovenlicht. Zuidelijke zijgevel met gekoppelde 8-ruits ramen al of niet met penant. Noordelijk zijgevel heeft een latere aanbouw met plat in een afgeleide stijl.

Built around 1890 as a Public Primary SCHOOL in artisanal-decorative brickwork architecture. Meanwhile the school is in use as a school for practical training. Excluded from protection is the post-war extension to the rear.
Description
School based on a rectangular ground plan and built in brickwork and covered by a truncated hipped roof laid with glazed corrugated tiles; moulded gutter line on brick corbels. Facade construction with plastered plinth; brick (corner) pilasters with spandrels; drip moulding at the height of the natural stone window sills; windows with decoratively brick and partly plastered relieving arch with decorative masonry in the arch spandrel. Symmetrically arranged front facade with deep-set portal; double panelled door with catch; lintel with carved work; double fanlight of which the lower one with cast-iron decorative grille. On either side three large 12-pane classroom windows with inset fanlight. Southern side facade with coupled 8-pane windows with or without mullion. Northern side facade has a later extension with flat roof in a derived style.
