Omschrijving
WAL TIELSE POORT - COKX POORTDe ommuring loopt vanaf de Tielse poort geleidelijk op van plm 1 tot plm 4 m t.o.v. het maaiveld (de berm) buiten de muur. Op plm 50 m van de Tielse poort een ongeveer vierkante muurtoren (plm 2 x 2 vierkante m), op kruinhoogte voorzien van een plm 1 m hoge borstwering; voorts nabij de zuidwestelijke hoek een zware plm 1 m brede steunbeer. Aan de stadszijde de omwalling, waarvan de kruin reikt tot even onder de bovenkant muur. Ter hoogte van de (geheel verdwenen) Steigerpoort een, via gemetselde trappen bereikbare, bestrate los- en laadplaats aan de Korne ter breedte van plm 10 m tussen twee keermuren, die haaks op de oever staan.

Description
RAMPART TIELSE POORT - COKX POORT The fortification runs from the Tielse poort gradually rising from approximately 1 to approximately 4 m in relation to ground level (the berm) outside the wall. Approximately 50 m from the Tielse poort an approximately square tower wall (approximately 2 x 2 square m), provided at crest height with an approximately 1 m high breastwork; furthermore near the south-west corner a heavy approximately 1 m wide buttress. On the city side the fortification, the crest of which reaches to just below the top of the wall. At the height of the (completely disappeared) Steigerpoort a paved loading and unloading place on the Korne, accessible via brick steps, approximately 10 m wide between two retaining walls that stand at right angles to the bank.
