Omschrijving
v.m. Fysiologisch Laboratorium.
Geheel gepleisterd, blokvormig pand, onderkelderd, met bel-etage en verdieping onder flauwhellend, met pannen gedekt schilddak, blijkens de door F.C. Donders gelegde steen met inscriptie gebouwd in 1866, uitgevoerd in eclectische trant.
De voorgevel bevat gebundelde veelhoekige pilonen op de hoeken waarin colonnet en een enkele bij de middenpartij, beneden een hardstenen plint, te weerszijden van de ingangspartij zes reeksen van drie gekoppelde rondboogvensters met colonnetten, en boven zes reeksen van twee gekoppelde rondboogvormig afgesloten achtruitsvensters met colonnetten, in fantasiespaarnissen; de centrale ingangspartij met keperboogvormig afgesloten deuren met geprofileerde omlijsting op consoles gedragen balcon en rondboogvormig afgesloten deuren en dito nissen met gebeeldhouwde sokkels te weerszijden, bekroond door een rechtafgesloten topstuk met afgeknotte vijfzijdige hoekpilonen; tussen de verdiepingen fantasiefriezen met hetzelfde motief als het balconhek, en bovenlangs cassettenfriezen en rechte, geprofileerde en gekorniste lijst. De linkerzijgevel in dezelfde trant.
De achtergevel eveneens, doch afwijkend in de vensterpartijen: beneden zes reeksen van telkens twee gekoppelde rondboogvensters en naast de risalerende middenpartij drie, bovenrondboogvormig afgesloten zesruitsvensters, van afwisselende omlijstingsvormen voorzien van tweemaal gekoppeld. Tussen de verdiepingen verdiepte velden met tondo-motief en bovenlangs eveneens, met toegevoegd een rondboogfries; de risalerende middenpartij voorts voorzien van een keperboogvormig afgesloten tuindeur met stoep en bekroond met eenzelfde topstuk als aan de voorzijde. Pand van opmerkelijke eclectische architectuur, van belang wegens architectuur-historische waarde en uit oogpunt van de ontwikkeling van de wetenschap.

Former Physiological Laboratory.
Entirely rendered, block-shaped building, with basement, bel-étage and storey beneath gently sloping, tile-covered hipped roof, as evidenced by the stone laid by F.C. Donders with inscription built in 1866, executed in eclectic style.
The front façade contains bundled polygonal pilasters on the corners whereupon colonnettes and one at the central section, below a sandstone plinth, on either side of the entrance section six series of three coupled round-arched windows with colonnettes, and above six series of two coupled round-arched closed rear-sash windows with colonnettes, in fantastical spandrels; the central entrance section with herringbone-arched doors with moulded surround carried on consoles with balcony and round-arched doors and similar niches with carved bases on either side, crowned by a straight-topped crowning element with truncated five-sided corner pilasters; between the storeys fantastical friezes with the same motif as the balcony railing, and above along cassette friezes and straight, moulded and corniced list. The left side façade in the same style.
The rear façade likewise, but differing in the window sections: below six series of in each case two coupled round-arched windows and beside the projecting central section three, above round-arched six-pane windows, furnished with alternating surround forms coupled twice. Between the storeys recessed fields with tondo motif and above likewise, with added round-arched frieze; the projecting central section furthermore furnished with a herringbone-arched garden door with stoop and crowned with the same crowning element as on the front side.
