Inleiding
Statig en karakteristiek gelegen WOONHUIS, deel uitmakend van een voormalige boerderij van het 'landherentype'. Het woonhuis is gebouwd in 1938 in opdracht van de familie Pelinck na afbraak van twee oudere woonhuizen. Het ontwerp, dat refereert aan de neo-classicistische vormentaal, is van de Groninger architecten J. Kuiler en L. Drewes. Het geheel is omgeven door een ruime tuin met oprijlaan en enkele oude bomen; aansluitend ligt een tot wandelpark ingericht ouder terrein met onder meer verwilderde houtwallen.
Het in aanleg oudere maar gewijzigde schuurgedeelte wordt wegens te weinig monumentale kwaliteiten niet van rijkswege beschermd.
Omschrijving
Het twee bouwlagen tellende uit baksteen opgetrokken woonhuis is gepleisterd en wordt gedekt door een met pannen belegd schilddak ; geprofileerde daklijst; dakkapellen in de zijschilden. De door stalen zesruitsramen symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel wordt benadrukt door een fronton met gietijzeren rondvenster en heeft een entree met zijlichten en omlijsting. Aan zuidelijke zijde aangebouwde serre met eenvoudige van pleisterwerk voorziene borstwering voor het balkon (terras met dito balustrade).
Waardering
Woongedeelte van een voormalige boerderij van het 'landherentype', ondanks de geringe monumentale waarden van het schuurgedeelte, van architectuurhistorisch, typologisch, cultuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang.

Stately and characteristically sited RESIDENCE, part of a former farmhouse of the 'landowner type'. The residence was built in 1938 on behalf of the Pelinck family following the demolition of two older residences. The design, which refers to neo-classical formal language, is by Groningen architects J. Kuiler and L. Drewes. The whole is surrounded by a spacious garden with drive and some old trees; adjoining is an older area laid out as a walking park with, among other things, overgrown hedgerows.
The barn section, which is older in layout but has been altered, is not protected by the state due to insufficient monumental qualities.
Description
The two-storey residential house, built of brick, is plastered and covered by a hipped roof with tiles; moulded cornice; roof dormers in the side hips. The front gable, which is symmetrically divided by steel six-pane windows, is emphasized by a pediment with cast-iron round window and has an entrance with side lights and frame. On the south side an attached conservatory with simple plastered parapet for the balcony (terrace with matching balustrade).
