Inleiding
WINKEL/WOONHUIS gebouwd in 1903 in Art Nouveau-stijl. De onderpui is in 1965 verbouwd in opdracht van Fa. J.G. Kramer naar ontwerp van Wieringa N.V. te Coevorden.
Omschrijving.
Het op de hoek van de Markt en de Kerkstraat gelegen pand bevat drie bouwlagen en een afgeplat schilddak met dakkapellen en pannen. Op de hoek een toren-achtige opbouw waaraan, onder een scheve hoek, een houten erker in Art Nouveau-stijl is bevestigd. De torenachtige opbouw bevat verder onder meer een uitkragend natuurstenen element; loggia; doorgetrokken gemetselde lisenen. De lange gevel aan de Kerkstraat heeft halverwege een topgevel met typische Art Nouveau-achtige boogvormen in licht geglazuurde steen. Voor het overige worden de gevels bepaald door vensters met eenvoudige Art Nouveau roedeverdeling, natuurstenen lateien en boogvelden met eenvoudig siermetselwerk; licht uitkragend fries onder de op klossen gedragen goot.
Waardering
Het pand Markt 15 is van stedebouwkundig belang vanwege de opmerkelijke hoekligging en de markante schaalvergroting in het centrum. Architectuurhistorisch is het pand van belang onder meer vanwege de toegepaste vormentaal en materialen. Het heeft mede daardoor een esthetische kwaliteit.

On the corner a tower-like structure to which, at an oblique angle, a wooden bay window in Art Nouveau style is attached.
