De "Heksenhoek"; restant van een in oorsprong wellicht 16e of 17e eeuwse, als volmolen gebouwde watermolen (dubbele onderslagmolen) "Molen de Reek" op de Jeker, die in de 19e eeuw werd ingericht tot vernismolen voor de Societe Ceramique en omstreeks 1950 werd aangeduid als baksteenmaalderij; het nog resterende oude gedeelte werd in 1957 verbouwd, uitgebreid en ingericht tot woonhuis en atelier van Charles Eyck.
Het oude, voor bescherming in aanmerking komende, tegen de stadswal aangebouwde, witgeverfde, in baksteen en mergel opgetrokken bouwdeel zonder verdieping en onder met Hollandse pannen gedekte mansarde- en zadeldak(en)is gedeeltelijk over de rivier (eerste maalgoot) heengebouwd; in de rivier de scheidingsmuur tussen de tweede maalgoot en de losgoot.
Zowel vanwege de herkenbaarheid van de oorspronkelijke functie als vanwege de historische betekenis als industriemolen en de zeer fraaie ligging een waardevol voorbeeld van een voormalige watermolen.

Description
The "Heksenhoek"; remnant of what was originally perhaps a 16th or 17th-century water mill built as a full mill (double undershot mill) "Molen de Reek" on the Jeker, which in the 19th century was converted into a varnish mill for Societe Ceramique and around 1950 was designated as a brick mill; the remaining old section was remodeled, expanded and converted in 1957 into a residence and studio of Charles Eyck.
The old building section, eligible for preservation, built against the city wall, whitewashed, built of brick and marl without an upper storey and covered with a mansard and gabled roof(s) clad with Dutch tiles, is partly built out over the river (first millrace); in the river the dividing wall between the second millrace and the open channel.
Both because of the recognisability of the original function and because of its historical significance as an industrial mill and its very fine location, a valuable example of a former water mill.
