Description

MODEL FARM "De Schipborg". Built in 1914 by commission of A.G. Kroller to a design by H.P. Berlage (1856-1934) in a rational style farmhouse. Situated on very spacious and remote terrain, constructed of brick, complex on rectangular plan and consisting of service buildings and stalls grouped in U-form around an inner courtyard with a horse pasture under gabled roofs, on the fourth side connected to one another by a wall with access gate with gate, flanked on both sides by a small service building. The furnishing of the facades is very simple; rectangular or round iron windows with sober division; straight and semi-round closed single and double stable doors. For some animation of the whole the higher constructed sorting houses, likewise the somewhat higher constructed dwelling with chimneys and an extended porch, the ventilation turrets on the end gables of the working buildings, the line design of the access gate with lanterns and flanking small buildings and the carefully formed in brick horse pasture, with on each of the four corners two columns crowned with lanterns, provide this on the inner courtyard.

The interior of the buildings is simple and functional, with the exception however of the dwelling of the former owner Kroller Jr. for this - in the interior - use was made among other things of facing brick, glazed brick with and without motifs, natural stone and simply worked wood for wainscoting, panelwork and breastings; to elements such as hearth structures and the like the necessary care has been given.
