COURTINE II-III MET KOEPOORT. Courtine met: - Even ten noorden van het midden de Wester- of Koepoort (1649), een classicistisch bakstenen poortgebouw op geknikt rechthoekige grondslag, met overwelfde doorgang van vijf traveeën tussen twee zijpartijen, elk omvattende op de begane grond twee ruimten, toegankelijk vanuit de doorgang, en op de verdieping twee ruimten. De gevel aan de veldzijde is rijk versierd met natuursteen. In de zijgevels e de gevel aan de stadszijde natuurstenen pilasters en omlijstingen om de (gedeeltelijk) dichtgemetselde (vier) raam- en deuropeningen. Op de pilasters houten kroonlijsten. De in 1730 aangebrachte schilddaken zijn aan de van buiten zichtbare zijde afgedekt met leien, overigens met pannen. Midden op het dak een klokkenkoepel met uurwerk en klokje (1708). - Aan de zuid- en noordzijde van het poortgebouw een pl.m. 10 m brede coupure d de hoofdwal. - Voorliggende gracht ter breedte van pl.m. 25 m.

Description
CURTAIN II-III WITH COW GATE. Curtain with: - Just north of the centre the West or Cow Gate (1649), a classicist brick gatehouse on a bent rectangular ground plan, with vaulted passage of five bays between two side sections, each comprising on the ground floor two rooms, accessible from the passage, and on the upper storey two rooms. The facade on the field side is richly decorated with natural stone. In the side facades and the facade on the town side natural stone pilasters and surrounds to the (partly) blocked (four) window and door openings. On the pilasters wooden cornices. The hipped roofs installed in 1730 are covered on the visible side with slates, otherwise with tiles. In the centre of the roof a bell cupola with clockwork and small bell (1708). - On the south and north side of the gatehouse an approximately 10 m wide coupure of the main rampart. - Foreground moat measuring approximately 25 m in width.
