Onderdeel van een bouwblok uit 1917-1925 (Berkenbosch Blokstraat 11 t/m 17, Neptunusstraat 140 t/m 154 en 2e Messstraat 112) bestaande uit twaalf woningen, waarvan een winkel-woonhuis op de hoek Berkenbosch Blokstraat en de Tweede Messstraat, op rechthoekige plattegronden. De panden nrs. 11; 13; 15 en 17 aan de Berkenbosch Blokstraat en de nrs. 144; 146; 148; 150; 152 en 154 aan de Neptunusstraat tellen drie bouwlagen en een zolderverdieping onder een met dakpannen gedekt zadeldak. De bakstenen puntgevels zijn twee vensterassen breed en hebben over een hoogte van twee bouwlagen hetzij in de rechter- of linkeras een driezijdige bakstenen erkeruitbouw. Op de derde verdieping boven de erker zijn balcons met deels geopende balustraden met openslaande deuren en zijdelings vensters. Naast de erkeruitbouw op de begane grond is een ingang met zijlichten en daarboven over een hoogte van twee bouwlagen vensters. Op de zolderverdieping in de puntgevel zijn twee vensters. In de houten vensters zijn nog ten dele de oorspronkelijke twee, drie, zes en achtruitsramen aanwezig. De achtergevels van de panden zijn drie vensterassen breed; de houten zesruitsvensters zijn ten dele nog oorspronkelijk. Op de zolderverdieping zijn twee vensters geplaatst. Het hoekpand aan de Neptunusstraat no. 140 en 142 en de Tweede Messstraat 112 is een winkel-woonhuis. Het telt drie bouwlagen en heeft een met pannen gedekt zadeldak tussen twee puntgevels. De gevel aan de Neptunusstraat heeft op de begane grond een grote winkelruit. Op de eerste en tweede verdieping is de gevel drie vensterassen breed; op de zolderverdieping zijn twee vensters naast elkaar geplaatst.Op de hoek is de ingang naar de winkel; op de eerste verdieping erboven een venster. De zijgevel in de Tweede Messstraat heeft op de begane grond een grote winkelruit en is op de eerste en tweede verdieping twee vensterassen breed. Het pand in de Tweede Messstraat, dat verbonden is met het winkel-woonhuis, telt twee bouwlagen en wordt met een plat dak gedekt.Naast de ingang is een groot venster; op de eerste verdieping eveneens. Voorts kleine vensters die een trappenhuis verlichten. Opvallend aan het winkel-woonhuis is het veelvuldig gebruik van natuursteen. De vensters van het winkel-woonhuis en het belendende pand in de Tweede Messstraat zijn alle vervangen door aluminium. Waardering.
