Inleiding.
Voormalig warenhuis "Magazijn Hollandia" uit 1908 in de stijl van de Weense Sezession, ontworpen door A.W. Meyneken voor een grootwinkelbedrijf in dames- en herenconfectie, manufacturen, schoenen en meubelen. Het pand is opgenomen in de straatwand met aaneengesloten bebouwing. In 1987-1988 is het gerestaureerd en verbouwd tot 13 woningen en 2 winkelruimten door Ton Deurloo Architecten BV. Diverse ornamenten zijn tijdens de restauratie van 1987-1988 opnieuw voorzien van bladgoud en bladzilver. Toen is ook op de dakrand in het middengedeelte het ijzeren reclamebord met de naam "Magazijn Hollandia" herplaatst. In 1954 is een groot deel van de oorspronkelijke indeling verwijderd en is de karakteristieke staalconstructie geheel in beton gestort. In 1987-1988 is de opzet van een centrale trappenhuis weer teruggebracht en is hier de originele staalconstructie weer in zicht gebracht. NB. De aan de achterzijde gesitueerde voormalige productiehal van het dagblad "Het Binnenhof" uit 1954, in 1987-1988 verbouwd tot woningen, valt buiten de bescherming. Omschrijving.
Pand op rechthoekige plattegrond bestaande uit vier bouwlagen onder een plat dak, drie vensterassen breed. Het is opgezet rond een trappenhuis en een centrale vide met lichtkap. Een van de laatste panden waar een in het zicht gelaten staalconstructie werd toegepast. Deze constructie, bestaande uit zes stalen hoofdkolommen, is opgebouwd door middel van staalprofielen met klinknagels. In de met zandsteen beklede transparante voorgevel zijn op alle bouwlagen grote glasvlakken met roedeverdeling in de bovenlichten aangebracht.
