Omschrijving
Uit 1871 daterende ijzeren voetganger/spoorbrug.
Met geklonken gesloten stalen liggers op portalen opgebouwde brug; aan de zijde van de Segeerssingel een trap met stalen trapbomen in I-profiel met twee bordessen, en aan de zijde van de Kanaaldijk een dito trap met een bordes; de bordessen steunen op gietijzeren Toscaanse kolommen; de traptreden zijn met hout gedekt, de stootborden zijn van gietijzer in roostervorm vervaardigd, het loopdek is eveneens van hout.
Bij elke opgang bevinden zich twee gietijzeren lantarens en bij elk uiteinde van het loopdek een gietijzeren boog, eveneens bestemd voor verlichting; op de overgang van de trap naar het bordes, in het midden van het loopdek, alsmede onder de verlichtingsbogen veelhoekige gietijzeren balusters met acanthus bladeren en pijnappelbekroning, daartussen slanke ronde balusters, eveneens met plantaardig ornament en bekroning; tussen de balusters simpele staven.
Op de brugligger een cartouche met het jaartal 1871.
Uit 1871 daterende ijzeren voetganger/spoorbrug, die vanwege cultuur- en architectuurhistorische, situerings-, typologische, zeldzaamheidswaarde en industrieel-archeologische waarde van belang is op Rijksniveau.

Description
Iron pedestrian/railway bridge dating from 1871.
Bridge built with riveted closed steel beams on portals; on the side of the Segeerssingel a staircase with steel stair beams in I-profile with two landings, and on the side of the Kanaaldijk a likewise staircase with a landing; the landings rest on cast-iron Tuscan columns; the stair treads are covered with wood, the risers are manufactured of cast-iron in grid form, the walking deck is likewise of wood.
At each approach are two cast-iron lanterns and at each end of the walking deck a cast-iron arch, likewise intended for lighting; on the transition from the staircase to the landing, in the middle of the walking deck, as well as under the lighting arches polygonal cast-iron balusters with acanthus leaves and pineapple finials, between them slender round balusters, likewise with plant ornament and finials; between the balusters simple rods.
On the bridge beam a cartouche with the date 1871.
