Een in opzet middeleeuws huis met 17e eeuws karakter, bestaande uit twee bouwlagen met een kap aan de rooilijn van de Maartenshof, evenwijdig aan de noordwand van het Domplein, en gedeeltelijk onderkelderd.
Oorspronkelijk was de gehele noordzijde van het Domplein bebouwd met grote claustrale huizen op ruime erven. Slechts Domplein 10, 11 en 12 zijn goede voorbeelden van deze bebouwing, mede dankzij het pleintje voor nummer 11 en 12 dat oorspronkelijk het claustrale voorerf was. Ook de in 1512 voor het eerst genoemde steeg achter Domplein 12 behoort tot de oorspronkelijke structuur. Zij diende als uitgang van het kapittelterrein om in de burgerlijke nederzetting te komen.
Domplein 12 is het oudste en tevens belangrijkste huis op het claustrale erf. het is, voor wat het casco met de kelder betreft, in opzet nog middeleeuws. De kap is in de 17e eeuw hersteld met hergebruik van delen van de oorspronkelijke kap. Dit betreft vooral de linker vier traveeën, de rechter twee behoren tot een 17e eeuwse uitbreiding. De middeleeuwse kelder met tongewelf bevindt zich aan de achterzijde onder het linker deel van het huis. In het interieur zijn de 17e eeuwse deuren en kozijnen nog aanwezig.

Description
A house medieval in conception with 17th-century character, consisting of two storeys with a roof at the building line of the Maartenshof, parallel to the north wall of the Domplein, and partially cellared.
Originally the entire north side of the Domplein was built with large claustral houses on spacious plots. Only Domplein 10, 11 and 12 are good examples of this development, also thanks to the small square in front of numbers 11 and 12 that was originally the claustral forecourt. The lane behind Domplein 12, first mentioned in 1512, also belongs to the original structure. It served as an exit from the chapter grounds into the civilian settlement.
Domplein 12 is the oldest and also the most important house on the claustral courtyard. It is, as far as the fabric with the cellar is concerned, medieval in conception. The roof was restored in the 17th century with reuse of parts of the original roof. This concerns especially the left four bays, the right two belong to a 17th-century extension. The medieval cellar with a barrel vault is located at the rear under the left part of the house. In the interior, the 17th-century doors and window frames are still present.
